The door swung open to reveal Aunt Janet.

'Olivia,I thought I heard a noise from your room'

Olivia sniffled quietly

'Honey, are you crying ?'asked her aunt sweetly.

Aunt Janet sat next to her on the bed and looked at the photograph in Olivia's hands.

'I miss them',sobbed Olivia.

Aunt Janet caressed Olivia's hair,'I do too'.

She continued,'your mother was my sister,as well as my best friend.Do you remember the day this picture was taken?',

'Yes'said Olivia,under her breath

'We buried dad under the sand and collected seashells. Then mom and dad were splashing each other with water and I joined in too.we were so happy'

'Your parents would want you to be happy, like how happy you were at the beach that day. They're never really going to be gone,as long as we remember them',

Olivia lifted up her tear stained face to look at her aunt .

'Really?'

'Really'.

'Now I'm going to go and let you rest'

As Aunt Janet was leaving, she heard a small voice behind her,

'Thanks',

'It was no problem, honey, you can always count on me to cheer you up',

'No,I mean for everything.I realized that I never said thank you'

'You're welcome, Liv'she smiled.

Once her aunt was gone,Olivia fell asleep.

Olivia dreamt of fire.

She was surrounded by fire on all sides. But Olivia didn't feel frightened or panicked. She felt free. She felt alive. The walls of fire closed in on her,but they fell apart as she unleashed her powers. Now the fires obeyed her.The fire was in her blood. It rushed through her veins. The fire was a part of her.

Olivia woke up in a pool of sweat. The sunlight streamed into her room, filling it with light. Her alarm clock was beeping and her aunt's cat,Mitten, had found her way into olivia's room and was stretched out on her bed and yawning, showing her pink tongue.Olivia picked up mitten and petted her, as she purred, thoroughly enjoying it.Mitten's black and grey fur shone in the sunlight.Olivia put Mitten down and got ready for school.

She got dressed and went downstairs to eat her breakfast

.Aunt Janet was flipping pancakes.Well, trying to.She wasn't very good at it

.Most of the pancakes had fallen down, and the ones that hadn't were all burnt.

'Want some pancakes Liv?'asked Aunt Janet.

'As much as I would love to,I'm late for school,'lied Olivia

'Oh,ok'said Aunt Janet.

Olivia walked to school. She found her history class and sat down, mentally preparing herself for another one of Mr Wilson's mind numbing lectures. Before she knew it, school was over and Olivia headed home.

When she reached her house, she saw that Aunt Janet was nowhere to be found.Olivia saw that her aunt had taped a note to the refrigerator.

It read,''Liv,I have to go to work and I have an extra shift today,so I'm going to be stuck there till evening.Call me if you need me''
