This was it.

Olivia was running away.

She walked out of the driveway and onto the sidewalk

Where should I go now ? she thought

The clubhouse.

The clubhouse was built when Olivia was seven. She had spent a whole week building it with her dad.It was made out of wood and was painted yellow and red.Olivia still recalled all the times that she had played in it.It was probably a mess now.She hadn't played there in years.

The paint was all probably faded and falling apart.

She walked to the park. There was a shortcut to the clubhouse that she knew of.Olivia walked past the swings where she had swung on a few hours ago.It was evening now and the stars were coming out.

She found a hole in the chain link fence. She stepped through it, careful not to cut herself on any of the rusted pieces sticking out of it.

Olivia was in the woods now. She could hear the distant song of a thrush. As she wandered deeper and deeper into the woods, she was becoming sure that she was walking in circles.

She looked around her and realized that she was lost.

She tried going back the way that she came, but she just ended up in the middle of a clearing , surrounded by trees.

The trees that looked friendly by day, now looked like monsters sneering at her, with their gigantic branches looming over her.

Olivia gathered a few sticks and tried to light a fire .

She focused on thoughts of fire, and, heat and warmth, and soon enough, she felt the familiar sensation of power surging to her fingertips. All of a sudden, a jet of fire shot out of her hands and onto the twigs.

She placed her bag in front of her,and lay her head on it,using it as a pillow.

Olivia soon fell asleep to the sound of the crackling fire.

Chirp chirp

Olivia woke up to see herself surrounded by three robins. They all looked at her curiously, having never seen a human in this part of the forest before.

It was morning, but the sun hadn't completely risen yet,and the forest was bathed in a dim glow.

One of the robins backed away from her as she sat up,rubbing her eyes.

Olivia yawned as she stretched her arms.

The robins chirped

The middle robin flew up to Olivia's hand and pecked at her bracelet

She laughed

'Awww'exclaimed olivia

She stood up,and the birds flew away.

Olivia gathered up her things and started walking again. She was going to try and find her way to the clubhouse today. The forest was quiet and tranquil. The sun had risen by now, and radiated vividly.Olivia passed a few squirrels who glanced at her but did not pay her any more attention. The snow from yesterday had mostly disappeared, even though, there were a few patches of snow every few yards. The whole forest smelled sharp and refreshing.

'Aunt Janet would be awake by now.She would be making us waffles or toast', she thought.

'Well,burning waffles or toast',Olivia giggled.

Olivia arrived at a wide glade. It was surrounded by oak trees and had a small pond in the middle.

She stopped to rest.Olivia sat down next to the pond and took a long drink of water from her bottle.

Then she splashed some water on her face and stood up.

As she was about to leave, she saw a flash of gold behind one of the trees.

She walked up to the trees and looked behind them, but there was nothing there. She turned around and saw something gold dart behind one of the other trees. She tried to nat make any noise as she slowly walked up to it.She jumped behind the tree and frowned. There was nothing but trees.Olivia looked around the glade, suddenly wary. She saw the gold thing disappear behind another clump of trees.

Olivia couldn't make out what it was,but whatever it was , it was as quick as lightning.

The gold thing disappeared behind another patch of trees, but not as fast as last time.

Olivia caught a glimpse of it.It was a golden floating orb.She rubbed her eyes. Was she seeing things?

The orb floated out from its hiding place and approached her.It floated around her, and then, it stopped.

Then it inched closer and closer to her.

'Touch me',a ghostly voice emanated from the ball.

Olivia could feel that the orb wanted her to touch it

What was stopping her?

'Don't touch it Olivia', said a voice in the back of her head.

'You don't know what could happen',

'You just have to reach out and touch me'said the orb.

Ignoring the annoying voice in the back of her head, she reached out her hand and touched it.

Suddenly, it was as if the whole world had caved under her feet.

Olivia felt like she was falling down an endless hole.

She felt lightheaded and felt everything spinning around her as her vision dissolved into darkness.
