Over the mountain peaks, rays of sunshine filtered through the tree-tops and to the shaded grass. Clouds of orange and red had weaved their way across the sky like that of a messy water-brush, gods palette.

Sanfransokyo was still, in the distance the city lights grew in color and size, blindingly bright and vibrant. Lanterns glided with the wind, the sky their home as they awaited nightfall.

Hiro sauntered along the pavement, Tadashi by his side as the mindlessly chatted. It'd been a year since the fire, a year since the sky had been filled with ash and smoke.

A year since Hiro had thought he'd lost Tadashi... forever.

The thought made him cringe, and before he allowed himself to think on it further he shoved the idea away. In all honesty, the moment he'd believed his brother was gone for good, the moment in which he'd been holding Tadashi's hand to his cheek had been the most awful experience ever.

Hiro had watched Tadashi take every rasping breath, he'd watched as paramedics and doctors surveyed his body. Aunt Cass had been close the whole time, clasping Hiro's shoulder tightly as she'd watched in fear.

The younger Hamada played with his hoodie, fingers carding together through the material of his blue pockets. His eyes glazed as the memory tangled with his heart.

A nudge to his side caught him of guard, and he staggered a bit as he looked up.

"Did you hear that numb-nuts?" Tadashi quipped, lifting a brow.

... Crap...

"Oh... no I... I was just thinking" Hiro replied.

Both brothers were making their way home, trudging along the pavement as Tadashi's scooter had recently been vandalized. The security camera's suspended around the lucky cat cafe had caught the crooks, yet their dark clothing had kept their identities hidden.

The motor had been bashed in with a wrench, and both tires had been punctured. Not only that but the break had been smeared with instant-glue, and glazed over with such heat that it'd melted all-together.

Tadashi had given up on trying to mend the wreck. It would've been easier to have bought another scooter, so thats what he had in plan. But for the moment, they'd have to walk to and from SFIT.

"I was saying that if you wanted, we could maybe pick up a pizza on the way back?" Tadashi explained, casting his eyes from Hiro and to the pathway ahead.

"Yeah! Sweet" the other smiled.

Before long, both brothers were chortling away again. They laughed at each others pathetic jokes and remarks, a nudge and shove was thrown here and there before turning into one of their many wrestling matches. Fortunately they were quick to break it up as they were in the middle of the street.

Tadashi placed a hand to Hiro's shoulder to coax his strides faster, it was growing darker, the sky easing down to a cold dark blue. Nothing about the night scared the younger Hamada, he'd grown used to it with how many bot-fights he'd formerly attended.

This behavior was weird, as Hiro couldn't recall his older brother ever being hasty to get home. In-fact he was always the last to return, sometimes arriving at the cafe at a time such as two in the morning. He'd taken a habit of working late, determined with completing his latest projects.

"Tadashi! Hey, slow down a bit" Hiro insisted. His wrist had carefully been taken in the others hand, and was now being pulled onward.

The older Hamada remained silent as he marched, refusing to acknowledge Hiro's question...
