The School (GXG)

The New Student

I see the sun go up which means it's around 5/6. I wash up and get dressed. This time, I put on some high waisted black jeans, which are now a bit big on me, the only sign of actual progress, and a sweater like shirt. It's striped a soft purple and black. I get my pastel purple bag (yes I have bags based off of my clothing), and mix match black and pastel purple shoes.

I remember that today is me showing the new kid around and I decide to but on a causal professional personality. I go on the metro and wait in the office for the person. After a bit, I ask what the person is like but they said to just wait until they were here. I found that kind of strange but I wasn't going to judge.

A few minutes later a person I didn't recognize went into the office. She was super hot and would totally be my type. " Hello. My name is Sophie. What's yours?"  Oh wow. Was she the new student? "Hello. My name is Y/N. I assume you're the new student?" "That's correct." Wow did I just get lucky?

"Well I'll be your guide. I'm assuming that your schedule has been given to you?" She nods. "Yeah. It's the same as yours." So that's why they asked me? Cool. " Alright. I'll show you around so keep up."

I take her around the school. "This is the gym....  This is the cafeteria..... This is the science room..... These are the outdoor areas... and this is our class! If you have any questions, I'll be glad to answer them!" I give a professional smile and walk into class.

The students look at me and the new student as she goes to the front. "Why don't you introduce yourself?" She pauses for a second then looks in my direction. "My name is Sophie. My power is to be able to make someone tell their true feelings for a random amount of time." She's dangerous. I have to keep my distance. "You can next to Alex. Alex raise your hand." Alex raises her hand.

Wait. That means she's sitting behind me. So much for keeping my distance. I hear them chatting, and by chatting I mean Alex just gushing over Sophie and Sophie giving monotone responses. I would laugh but the personalities basically last the duration of school.

After the next class, Sophie follows me around. "Sophie! What if I introduce you to some people? I feel like you would get along with them well and it's always good to have friends!" I honestly didn't feel comfortable with her around me because one small joke could result in people hating my guts.

She nods in response and I bring her to the current friendship I'm in and introduce them. "Guys, this is Sophie, the new student. Sophie, this is Rosie, Janice, and Clover." They all wave hi and Rosie makes the 'we need to speak' face. "Sophie, make sure you speak to them and I'll be back." I leave with Rosie to a farther part of the classroom.

"Omg she's so hot. Where'd you get her from??" "Well I didn't get her from anywhere but I'm thinking of making her apart of your friend group." And nods and blushes. "I think she's super cute. Me and her would be so cute together. You understand, right?"

I clench my teeth and nod. "Yes.. I agree. You two would look so cute together! Can you tell Sophie that I have to go since a teacher called me? It's about to be lunch anyway." She nods and leaves. I go wander around the school until I reach my secret area.

I wonder what Sophie is doing right about now? She's really hot so no doubt she will be super popular. I wonder if she's in the LGBTQ+ community. I really hope she is because that would mean that I'd have a chance.

*I think back to what just happened* well... I doubt it. When Rosie finds an interesting in something, she'll get it no matter what. So I actually hope if Sophie is in the LGBTQ+ that she doesn't have an interest in anyone but Rosie.

They'll definitely experience hardships. Well, there's no use in being upset about it. Time to get started on dancing again. *the bell rings* This felt longer than usual. I go back into the cafeteria to see Rosie soaking up to Claire.

"Oh.. Y/N... welcome back. Sophie and I were wondering what happened to you." She grabs Sophie's arm and pushes it up against her breast. Did she feel threatened or something?
"Oh! You know me. I'm just always around. Back to more important matters,
Sophie. Do you still want me to guide you to your last class? Since all three of us have a class together, Rosie can take you! I'll just need to tell the office."

"A-" "That sounds like a great idea! Run along now. Come on Sophie!" Rosie pulls Sophie by her arm and I smile weakly at them. My emotions almost overwhelmed me right then so I quickly go to the office and tell them that Sophie made a friend.

"Thanks Y/N! I knew you were the perfect person for the job! Sophie has already made a friend. This can be counted for community hours. Have a nice day and take the slip to class do you don't get counted as tardy." I thank her then go to my last period class.

I give the teacher the slip and I sit down next to the window in the very back of the class. This class in particular I do all my work at home and I'm normally steps ahead so I go to sleep. Plus, if there's a new subject or topic that I missed, I would just ask someone and they'd tell me.

After a couple of minutes I feel something, or someone hit my back. Since I don't really want to wake up, I try to go back to sleep. This doesn't work because I am hit again but with a bit more force. I wake up and then look behind me, only to hear some snickering.

I wonder what I did to make someone mad at me but I just stay up and pay attention to his boring class. I look at Sophie who looks a bit angry and I sigh. Maybe I shouldn't have introduced her to Rosie.

All of a sudden, Rosie stands up and blurts something out. "I actually hate Y/N! I keep on  hitting her but she doesn't catch the drift! I only stay around her because she's nice and gives me extra points. I don't even like her. And Sophie? I only want her so I can become more popular than the popular pe-"

As soon as she starts she gets cut off. I feel so pathetic. I can't believe that's what she truly thinks of me. I put my head down because I get super upset and so my power deactivates. I feel eyes on me but I pretend to be asleep because I don't want anyone seeing me like this.

Out of all of the years this has happened to me, why did it have to be now! I feel eyes off of me and then I go back to sleep for real. I get woken up by Sophie a couple of minutes later.

"Hey.. are you okay?" I get extremely upset. I know she doesn't know this but I hate when people ask me that question. My power literally is just me faking emotions because so lack them so NO! I'm NOT okay.

I smile at her, "of course? Why wouldn't I be! Are you okay though? You seem upset. Where's Rosie by the way?" Sophie looks at me skeptically but then answers that she's fine and Rosie when home.

"Ah, okay! I hope Rosie feels better! Thanks for waking me up! Do you need to go somewhere?" "No... except on the bus. Do you know where to ride metro 25?" Of course she's riding my bus. "Yeah! Follow me! I ride that one too."

After 10 minutes we arrive and go in the bus. A couple people get on and off at a few stations until it's my turn to get off. "Okay, I get off here see you later!" "I get off here as well." Oh crap. I just smile and walk until I get to my house. Sophie walks a bit further and she two houses after mine. I wave goodbye and she does the same.
