Of course, since I was so early, we did have to extend our stay about 2 weeks. In this two weeks, legal matters started to arise. My mother changed her mind. She wanted to keep me, but since they had already taken all of this to court weeks before, that wasn't possible.
When it was time to head back to America, Archie and Olivia called Phil and Kay and had them send their sons to go set up the nursery to the best of their abilities. Mainly just the crib. We all flew back to California where we stayed at my dad's house for the weekend while he talked to Archie and Olivia about living arrangements. They came to the decision that I would live in Louisiana. I would go to school there, play sports, make my life there, etc.
Of course, I wouldn't totally leave my actual family. Every summer, Christmas, and when I got to school, my spring and fall breaks were spent with my dad. We went to California, New Jersey, and Italy. Until I was about 8 or 9, my cousin, Nick Groff, would fly down from New Jersey and fly with me to Cali. Once I was comfortable on my own, I was able to travel alone.
