Song: I Can Make You Love Me - Bonnie Raitt

"You know I can make you love me if I want to?"

-❦-

Y/n woke up with a light headache, steering a bit in the oh so familiar bed she was laying in at the moment. As she looks over her shoulder she sees Dylan, her 'best friend', laying there peacefully, still sleeping as he snores a bit, y/n thinking it's cute as she admires every feature on the boys face.

"Morning beautiful." Dylan's deep, corky morning voice speaks up as he wiggles his arms around y/n's waist, the girl being embraced in a hug by the brown haired boy, the two spooning, y/n being the little spoon. She giggles a bit as she lays in his embrace, a smirk forming on his lips as now he admires her beautiful features.

"Morning Dyl." The girl kindly replies, snuggling into his chest a bit, the boy kissing the top of her head, realising how lucky he is with y/n being a part of his life. Ever since he'd been doing way better and even though he thanked her a lot already for sticking to his side, it felt to him as he didn't appreciate her enough. Y/n always disagreed, the girl thinking Dylan admires her way too much, which wasn't weird seeing everything the girl has done for him. From helping him with heartbreaks and heartaches the boy suffered to small things such as doing his laundry here and then and feeding his dog whenever he was on the road for another acting job.

The two lay in peace for some minutes, not saying anything as they enjoy the comfortable silence between the two of them. As the two were snuggled into one another y/n's stomach grumbled a bit, the girl genuinely hungry and desiring some breakfast.

Dylan heard the girls stomach grumble too, him knowing damn well their little moment will be over seeing the girl loves food, which he didn't blame her for at all.

"I'll be right back." The girl reassures as she loosens herself out of his grip, the girl slipping into a shirt and shorts of her friends as she then makes her way to his kitchen, coming across Dylan's dog on her way, her motioning him to come along in Dylan's eyesight. The boy loved how she was such good friends with him and his dog and adored every little moment they had together, him realising he really wanted to make her his. He'd thought about it after the third time the two of them slept together, it starting as a 'friends with benefits' thing, but Dylan hated every single part of it. The more often they'd do it, the more he realised he genuinely liked this girl. Her inner beauty really attracting him just as much as her outer beauty. He liked every single part about the girl except for her eating everything he kept in his fridge, but at the end he didn't mind, because he liked this girl.

As he daydreams a bit about the two of them he suddenly hears something break in the kitchen, snapping him out of his thoughts immediately as he quickly makes his way into the kitchen, still in his boxers. As he enters he sees y/n trying to clean up the mess she'd made. Fortunately for her she hadn't poured the milk or cornflakes she was having in yet, otherwise it'd be an even bigger chaos in the boy's kitchen.

"Did you hurt yourself?" Was the first thing Dylan asked, making the girl jump a bit at the sudden sound of his voice, her immediately realising it's her best friend who's stood behind her.

"I didn't." She speaks up as she collects the shards which were all over the floor, Dylan joining in to help her. As the last shard is left the two of them both reach for it, y/n cutting herself on it as she lets out a little groan, the shard fortunately for her not cutting that deep into her skin.

"Ooh shit." Dylan says as he sees the little cut which was on the girls finger, him getting a plaster as she holds her hand under the crane, the water flooding over it, Dylan putting the plaster over her little wound when she's finished.

"Listen," Dylan takes a grip of the girls hands as the two of them make proper eye contact for the first time today, the girl admiring his brown coloured eyes. She always was drawn to the boy because of his looks and character, his eyes always standing out to her. She began to like him more and more as time passed, but the moment she wanted to ask him out the girl grew nervous, her asking if they could be 'friend with benefits' instead, which they still were until this day. She wanted their relationship to be a romantic one instead of a friendly one though, but she was too scared to mention her feelings towards him, knowing he wouldn't feel the same way, especially because of the amount of options he had because of his fame.

"It's okay Dylan, you don't have to apologise." The girl cuts off, knowing he wanted to apologise for the cut the shard had made. He always felt guilty whenever the girl got hurt, even if it wasn't his fault.

"That's actually not what I wanted to talk about." Dylan confesses as he looks away, too nervous to even face the girl in front of him, her being taken by surprise with him. As far as she knew the two of them had nothing to discuss, so to say she was curious to what he had to say was an understatement.

"I've been willing to ask you about this for quite some time now, but I have a really important question to ask," he continues, trying to get a hold of his sleeve to fiddle with them until he realised he's stood in front of her in only his boxers, the girl noticing his movement as she laughs a bit mentally at his behaviour. The boy would always fiddle with his sleeves when he was nervous, something she always considered as cute.

"But I really, like really like you." He awkwardly scratches the back of his neck as he now faces the ground, even more scared to face the girl now that he'd confessed him liking her.

"You know I can make you love me if I want to?" The girl replies, thinking it's a joke seeing she knows Dylan doesn't like her in that way. "In a friendly way of course, I mean-"

"It's not meant on a friendly way," He confesses as his eyes lock with hers now, the girl taken aback by his confession. Before Dylan knows what she's doing the girl splashes son cold water in her face, thinking she's still dreaming until she sees Dylan still stood in front of her, in the same boxers and the same anxious face expression.

"And you can't make me love you seeing I already do, for now in a friendly way, but I'm just hoping it can develop in something more." He adds as he nears the girl, his arms wrapping around her waist as their faces are now inches away from each other. The girl tries to speak, but her mouth feels dry, she tries to move, but it feels like she's stuck. She doesn't know what to do except for staring into his brown eyes, which had a 'please respond' expression.

"I- I," the girl stumbles a bit over her words as he folded with the sleeve of his shirt, even more nerves going through her gains than before.

"I like you too." She adds and before she knew it the two of them met each other halfway, their lips softly moving in sync with one another, then sharing a loving and tender kiss. After some time the two break apart, both of them gasping for oxygen as they're speechless for some time.

"So, d- do you w- want to be my g- girlfriend?" The boy proceeds to ask, stumbling a bit over his words as he's still in unbelief of what just happened. He just kissed the girl he liked and she even likes him back. The kiss they shared wasn't one like the previous ones which they'd shared, this one was tender, loving and full of emotion, while the other were sloppy and filed with list and desire for one another.

"I would love to."
