The Drive

Silence....
Silence was what I heard besides the roar of the truck. Do I say something?
Should I say something? What about my car? I peeked a look at him. His hands gripped the steering wheel tightly. His face looked hard. Zeppelin slept on my legs. I just sighed and petted her. She started purring. She then just let out this loud ass meow. I didn't even know she could meow that loud! I froze. And looked over at Storm. He was looking over at me we both looked at Zeppelin. She just stared. I could hold it in I just had to laugh. It was so funny. It sounded like a cat in heat. I didn't even care that it was just awkward. When I need to laugh I'm going to laugh. I was shocked when i see Storm with a small grin on his face. Why can't he smile? It's so handsome. My laughter died down. And I just had a small smile on my face. I sighed and felt another silence coming. I broke the silence.
"When did you know we were Mates?" It was quiet for a moment and I was beginning to think he was going to ignore me but he answered. "When I first laid eyes on you." He stated. I felt my face heat up." Where is your uh.. kingdom located?" I asked nervously.
He looked at me. "In a different dimension." He answered before turning to look at the road. Did I hear him correctly. A different dimension? "How do we get there? A portal?" I asked sarcastically. "He chuckled "Yes actually." I sighed and looked out the window. "Did you know about the Vampire King at my house is that why you were walking up the road and lied that you lived next door?" I asked him.
He answered "Yes that's why Matt and I were there. To protect you and to scare him off. He doesn't know we're Mates but he knows who you are. And I wasn't lying about living next door. I bought that house so that I could be closer to you." He answered honestly.
I felt myself smile. Whether it was meant to be sweet or not, but I took it that way.
We finally arrived at my house. I was about to get out when he grabbed my arm. "Wait-don't go. I need to check if it's safe." He said. My arm where he is touching is burning. In a good way. Like tingles. I looked down and he pulled away before getting out of the car with out another word. He sniffed the air. I cracked a grin. He was sniffing the air. 😂
He came back and opened the door for me. "Thanks." I said carrying Zeppelin in my arms and onto the porch. I unlocked the door and went in with Storm following behind me. Exactly how long was I going to be in this place. Would Storm accept me?
