Life
“Wake up! Wake up! Do you know what time it is? It’s 11 o’clock Ki, and you’re still mating with your bed.”
Ki lifted up his head from the pillow and turned to his left to see who was waking him up.
“Mum, you do know that my bed and I have something going on and she will not let me go that easy”
Ki’s mum looked at him with a straight face with her mouth showing slight amusement.
“HA-HA. Come on kiddo, Felicia is not going to clean her own stable herself now, is she?”
“You know mum, she just might”, he said to his mum as he rolled his face onto his pillow. “Let me enjoy my bed for another five minutes.”
“Get up!!! Or I’ll…” she raised her right hand up as a warning before she hits him.
Without hesitation he stood up on his bed while raising both of his hands up.
“I’m up! I’m up. Geez mum calm down or your heart will pop.”
Ki made his way down to the front door barefooted with his pajamas on. He stood still on his wooden based verandah as he inhaled deeply along with a stretch. He exhaled and scans the view with a great smile.
“What a great day to be alive”, he stated with gladness.
He kept the smile on his face as he walked towards the stables. The long grass brushed against his blue-striped pajamas and made him think, ‘this grass needs some trimming…but I’ll do that later’. Ki’s face filled up with true happiness and it seemed like nothing was going to bring that smile down.
His friends at school love him for he is profoundly joyful everyday for no reason. The happiness that he brings with him wherever he goes is weirdly contagious, but destiny knew that things were about to change for him.
As he entered the stable silence was right by his side. Though his imagination was as wide as an elephant’s buttocks, he couldn’t help his happiness but to express it.
“And the Prince is in the palace!!!”
His voice bounces off the wooden walls as he took gigantic steps into the stables. After a few steps forward he heard a slight moan, but from the distance the noise was not man like. He stopped. He tiptoed towards the noise, and as he moved closer and closer the moaning became louder and louder. At a closer range he started to recognise the noise. He then figured out that it was actually…
“Felicia!!!” He shouted in terror.
Ki’s smile is replaced with worry and fear. As he ran towards Felicia’s stable the moaning became louder than a lion’s roar. His tiny hands embraced the bars of the stable’s door. He poked his head through the bars screaming Felicia’s name.
“Felicia!!! Felicia!!! No!!!!!”
He could not believe what he was seeing before his eyes. Felicia lied on a bunch of red dyed hay with blood gushing out of a great wound close to her abdomen. Ki grabbed the ring full of keys from his waist. Sinking into his fear he found difficulties of picking out the right key for Felicia’s stable. With great panic his hands shook endlessly causing him to drop the keys to the ground. He immediately picked up the keys from the ground and coincidentally got his hands on the right one for Felicia’s stable.
“I’m coming Felicia! Stay Alive! Stupid keys.”
Felicia’s painful moaning stopped. The life in the air was captured slowly and escaped quickly. Ki managed to open the gate at once. He barged through the stable’s door with great force. He kneeled next to Felicia’s head and cried a waterfall along with a tight embrace around Felicia’s neck.
“Felicia…please don’t leave me…you’re my only friend and the only best friend that I have in my life,” he sobbed. “Please don’t go Felicia…don’t go…”
Felicia could not live any longer. She took her last breath as the darkness took her eyes. Ki embraced her tighter than ever. The rapids in his eyes gained speed. His cheeks were drowning. The stable filled up with misery and despair. The depression within Ki’s emotions was greatly rising.
“Don’t worry son, she’s in a better place now”, Ki’s mum spoke out from behind.
Ki sat up and hears snarling and growling noises from behind. He turned his head slowly. When his vision reached the face of his mum his heart started to pump twice as fast. The skin on his mum’s body was pale as a clean paper, wrinkly as an elephant. Her clothes were stained with fresh blood. Her eyes were glowing red and blood was dripping out from her mouth. She held the leash of a dark hellhound on her right hand and knife covered in blood on her left. She smiled at Ki as he stared at her.
“Come to me my son”, she said.
Ki stood up and stumbled backwards until he found himself leaning on the wooden wall of Felicia’s stable.
“You are not my mum. Who are you? Get out of her body!”
Strangled by fear, his ability to move became impossible as his mum stared at him from the stable door with a great smile. Then suddenly Felicia’s stomach started moving. Something was inside Felicia and it wanted to come out. Ki gasped deeply as he viewed the most horrific entity that he had ever seen in his life. The invader stretched the stomach of Felicia and with its huge blade like claws it ripped out of the dead horse’s body leaving large splashes of blood on the opposite side of the stable. A demonic creature appeared from the red. It was standing up with a body as dark as shadows with glowing cracks of red. Ki’s face showed great fear as the creature faced him. The beast turned its body around and faced Ki. Its face was not human nor a horse. What he saw was indescribable. The creature leaped towards Ki with its gaping mouth full of daggers.
“AAAAGGHHHH!!!” Ki screamed in terror as the darkness pulled his soul out of the face of the earth.
