Welcome to my latest story. I hope you'll enjoy this little thing here. I've planned on writing a few chapters. Nothing too long. Just a nice little bruise for all of us.
Note: It's not necessary to know Ninjago. There are no spoilers and no special knowledge is needed.
So, all I have to say is: Lean back and enjoy!

Fear, anger, grief, sorrow and desperation weren't only shallow words for the ninja. They've experienced all of that more than once. These emotions and feelings had grown to a familiar companion through their missions, their lives and their very selves. Somehow they even became a part of their personalities. Everyone of them had suffered so many times in their short teenager lives. But for Cole, it was nothing compared with the sheer amount of horror he felt while an ice cold hand crushed his heart into pieces.
Hot blood from a wound on the black ninja's forehead rushed over his face and his breath was heavy while he held his best friend in his arms. His lips mumbled the same sentences over and over: "Please, don't die! Don't leave me, bluebell! Don't you dare die!"
The lightning ninja was pale and his body hung limp in Cole's arms. He breathed but that was the only good sign so far. His blue gi turned purple where the blood oozed out of the long diagonal wound on his chest. The color was so similar to the blueberry syrup Cole had spilled last night. But that was so much worse than a spilled food.
"Hold on Jay! Only a little bit more!" he whispered once more and ducked deeper in the shadow of the loose piece of concrete that had fallen down from the floor above them.
He heard Lloyd screaming a command, followed by a quick response from Kai. Cole wished he could go and help them but that would have meant he had to leave Jay here; unconscious, helpless, wounded and maybe at the threshold to death.
No, even when Nya was able to leave her boyfriend, he could never do this to his best friend, the man he secretly loved. A long time ago he had given up on these kind of feelings for the bouncy freckled boy. Instead he had decided to keep shut about it. But he would've never been able to leave him. Never! Even when Jay was about to get married to a woman who did'n deserve him. Not in the slightest! Nevertheless he had sworn to keep his mouth shut and his feelings sealed, even when that meant he was slowly eaten alive by grief and sorrow. He just told himself it was all worth it, as long as Jay was happy and he could stay a part of his life.
Cole pressed his friend gently against his breast and gave him a quick peck on his crown. "Don't leave me, okay? Hold on just a little bit more. We are almost out there and then we'll fix you in no time. Do you hear me?"
The motionless body in his arms didn't respond and Cole had serious doubts that Jay would make it this time. He had been injured so many times during the last weeks and today it was so much worse than ever before.
Cole shifted the weight a bit and used all his senses to explore the surrounding area. The sounds of clashing swords, screams and groans of their fighting teammates and opponents had moved and it seemed that there wasn't a living soul near their hideout. Otherwise he would have felt their feet on the ground. For a long time he hadn't known about that ability, but it seemed that the earth tried to obey its master and whispered to him whenever living beings stood on the elemental masters familiar territory.
Though, when he was sure that no one was near, he left the shadows and carried his friend out of the building and into a save surrounding, where already an ambulance waited to take care of Jay. Cole guessed this was Zane's work. The nindroid must have called them after he had seen how badly Jay was injured this time. He sent a silent thank you to the ice elemental while the first paramedic met Cole halfway and gave him orders where to place Jay.
