Chapter 3: Heavy Conversations in a Movie Store, Heads to Top
"This is a nice house," Draco said looking around the home of the young Weasleys after he'd put the beans he and Harry had brought on their kitchen table.
"Thank you. Harry, show Draco the house, would you?" Hermione asked. Harry motioned and he and Draco took the tour of the comfortably cozy suburban home. Where Harry's apartment was more sleek, monochromatic and modern, Ron and Hermione's home was country and loaded with worn antiques, colorful quilts and a softer feminine feeling atmosphere. The tour showed Draco an empty bedroom upstairs in a light blue. Harry told Draco that Ron and Hermione had decided to try to have a baby soon.
"More Weasleys. I can hardly wait," Draco drawled. Their little tour ended in the living room where Ron was comfortable in his large recliner having a beer and watching sports on the television. "You are so muggle." Harry and Draco sat on the plaid sofa.
"I love it," Ron said. "Muggle sports are great. I love baseball."
"I know what that is," Draco said.
"Draco can use a can opener," Harry said with a laugh and Draco gave him the look. "Sorry."
"Shut up, Potty," Malfoy spat.
"Bite me, ferret," Harry said.
"It's a wonder you're both still alive after three days of that shit," Ron said. "Hermione wanted to call every hour to make sure you hadn't killed each other."
"We've had a great time," Harry said. "We brought that furniture, too. Want me to take it downstairs and resize it?" Ron agreed and the three men stood when Hermione came into the room.
"Where are you going?" Hermione asked
"Furniture for downstairs," Ron said. "Harry was going to resize it."
"I'd better go with you. You're terrible at arranging furniture," Hermione said to Ron.
"Draco is great at furniture," Harry said. "We picked out a great set of new things for the new library."
"It will look so good when they deliver it. I can't wait," Draco said.
"Where did you get the new stuff?" Ron asked as they were going downstairs to the empty bedroom.
"A place called Trindell's on the other side of London," Draco said.
"Trindell's?" Hermione was shocked. "That place is outrageous in price, Harry. Why on earth did you go there."
"We couldn't find anything we liked," Harry said. "They're delivering the new furniture to our apartment on Friday at three. We've already changed the wall color and trim." Ron and Hermione shared a private glance at the 'we' and 'our' Harry kept using, but neither said a word. Draco looked about the room and noticed the window and closet placement.
He made suggestions as to the placement of the furniture and he and Hermione decided where everything should go, but it was Draco's design in the end. Harry resized all the furniture and Ron, since he was obviously burlier in strength, positioned everything a bit and soon it was finished.
"Harry, you didn't have to leave the coverings on the bed," Hermione said.
"You don't want them? If you don't, trash it," Harry said. "I don't care if I ever see it again. I hate it." Draco laughed softly.
