I feel like Jack Stauber would work at a coffee shop so that's now why this is made :)
(D/N - Dog Name)
!¡!¡!¡
You just entered the back of the coffee shop, checking in, and heading to the cash register you were assigned. You started to talk to Jack who worked at the register next to you.
"Any rude customers?" You asked as you rubbed your thumb against the rubber number buttons on the register. He was really awkward and a big shy at times and he would always tell you about any rude or terrible customers.
"Yeah," he said as he pointed to one. "He was in a hurry apparently and once I have him his coffee he just sat down as if his problem went away. Totally uncalled for." He chuckled slightly and you nodded your head.
"Some people just want their coffee. You should've put something in it. Like, something he didn't order to just mess with him." You said as you chuckled at the thought.
"Yeah, that would be pretty funny." You both then started making jokes and talked, occasionally going quiet either because someone ordered or because you didn't know what to say.
-a few hours later-
"Thank god my shift has ended." Jack said as he walked up to you and took off his apron and hung it on the rack thing next to yours.
"Yeah. I'm gonna go get Mc. Donald's, wanna come with?" You asked as a slight brush appeared on your cheeks. It was no mystery that you liked Jack but no else in the shop had told him.
"Sure! Sounds fun," he said as he smiled. "Are we going now or later?"
"Whatever works. I don't really care."
"Later then?" You nodded and watched as he walked out, a breathe you didn't realize you were holding escaping.
You made yourself a small cup of coffee and sat in the lounge area and scrolled through social media before heading home.
As you unlocked your house, your dog ran up to you and scratched at your knees. "Hi, D/N!"
They barked at spun around in circles as you locked the door back. You quickly changed and sat on the couch and started to play some games on your phone.
This went on for a while before you got a text from Jack.
Jack: Wanna go to Mc. D's now?
You: Sure!
You said goodbye to your dog and walked out the door. You drove to Mc. Donald's and saw Jack standing outside, seemingly waiting for you. You got out of your car and walked up to him. "Hey bestie!" You said as you waved and smiled.
That made him blush slightly and he opened the door for you. "M'lady."
You chuckled and walked in like you were someone of royalty. You both made your orders and when it was time to pay you realized you had forgotten your wallet. "Crap," you saw Jack look at you with a confused expression. "Forgot my wallet. Don't mind paying, do you? I'll pay back."
"It's alright, you don't have to pay back. And I don't mind." He chuckled as he paid the amount of money needed and went to make his drink. You followed him and made your own drink before sitting down at a booth.
"Sometimes, I wonder what the lives of coffee worker people would be like I'd mean customers didn't exist. Would it be better or..."
You had zoned out, your thought running a marathon in your mind. You were taken away from your thoughts as food was placed on the table.
A meal and much talking later, you both had to go home. You waved bye to Jack and got in your car, a wave of tiredness coming over you. You got home and laid in bed, instantly falling asleep.
-the next day-
You were making someone's order when you realized you were out of ice. You went to the freezer and couldn't reach it. "Hey, Jack," you called, seeing as he was the closest person and the tallest. When you heard him reply, you said: "Can you help me get the ice?"
You heard footsteps and saw Jack appear around the corner. You moved out of the way and walked in the freezer to help him with the bag. Just as the door shut, you heard it lock. You walked over it and pulled on the handle. "Shit..." you muttered.
Jack had now gotten the ice bag down and looked over at you, confused. "What happened?"
"I forgot the door has to be held open while someone is in here 'cause it locks from the outside."
You saw his eyes widen then quickly go back to normal. "That's alright, we can just ask someone. Do you have your phone on you?"
"No, it's in my bag in the lounge." You said, which you instantly regretted because you saw the look of fear on Jack's face.
He started to mumble things to himself. "Ok, then we'll just bang on the doors until someone hears us and let's us out." Sounded like a solid plan so y'all hit the door for a few minutes until your hand got a cut.
You sat down on the floor, defeated. "We're stuck in here until someone saves us or notices we're missing." You said as you sighed. Jack sat down next to you.
-time skip-
You were about to fall asleep until the lights went off. The sudden darkness scared you and you yelled. The only actual light source was from one of the smaller freezers that would normally hold ice creams in stores but it was very dim and did absolutely nothing.
Once you'd calm down and gotten used to the darkness, you heard shuffling next to you then footsteps going back and forth.
"Ok, so no one found us. We might be stuck here forever." Jack said, pacing.
"Maybe we won't. There's always the janitor. I've been told they sometimes come in here." You said, trying to calm him down. But it didn't really help you because the thought of being stuck in a freezer terrified you and you started breathing heavily.
Jack must've heard this and came over to you. "What's wrong?" He asked. He'd never seen you have a panic attack before because normally you would go out back and calm down.
"Just having a panic attack. The thought of being in here for who knows how long is terrifying." You managed to say. Although you think you said it too quickly because you heard him make a sound of confusion.
He hugged you, which honestly made you feel a lot better. And the sudden warmth was enough to make you want to fall asleep. But you couldn't, because fear kept you up. "Thank you." You mumbled as he moved away.
"Anyways," he said. "We should tell secrets." You guess he was trying to lighten the mood a little bit so you agreed.
A lot of secrets later, you felt a lot more comfortable and didn't feel as panicked and terrified as you did earlier. "Ok, my turn." Jack said. "Now, please don't freak out because I've pondered on this secret for a long time."
You muttered an okay and waited for him to say the secret. "I have liked you for such a long time, it's kinda funny. I've never held up a crush this long before." He kept saying other thin gas but you zoned out. He liked you back. And all this time you thought he just liked you as a friend.
Somehow, someway, you both ended up laying on the floor- a full make out session going on. You don't know how it happened, but when you suddenly realized what you were doing you weren't too bothered by it. After all, you had liked him for forever.
You don't quite remember what happened next but you remember waking up with the lights on and the manager screaming at you to get out the freezer.
You and Jack were a giggling mess. The manager told you both to get to your stations and get to work.
You smiled slightly and got ready for another day of work, Jack standing right beside you.
