The day passed, and with it also did my calmness. I can't believe the boldness of that Hyunjin guy. I don't want him over. The day that started all beautiful is ruined.
Once the bell rang I ran out of the class hoping I don't meet that guy and I wouldn't have to take him with me. I basically ran like my life depended on it.
I made it out of the school's gate and I heard steps behind me. I started walking and then he got besides me.
"That, mate, looked like you where running from me" he laughed softly.
"No" I said nervous trying to come up with an excuse. A rain drop fall on my head and I knew.
"Mate is the weather, we need to walk a lot and it looks like it'll rain" that was the best I could.
"Yeah, of course" he said and we kept walking.
We made it to the bus station completely wet. The rain, in fact, heard my words. It was all cold inside the bus, I couldn't help to feel a little sorry for the guy. Indeed, I didn't want him to come over, but this is something I wasn't planning. He could be already in his warm apartment, but he wanted to come with me.
I love rainy days but just this time a hate them. He was supposed to take the book and leave, he is not doing that now. Thanks world for putting me in this wierd situations.
We got to the porch of my house and while I was open the door I heard his teeth clicking out of coldness. Once inside I realized how bad he was shaking.
"Yeah, I'll lend you some dry clothes too, come in" I said making my way to the stairs knowing that he is following me up.
I opened my door and took off my blazer to put it on my desk chair. I went into my bathroom and took two towels, one hanging on my neck and the other one on hand.
"Here" I told him and he gladly took it. He took out his blazer and placed it over mine. He stared drying his hair and I only got to my closet trying to look for something for him to wear.
I stared at him analysing whether my clothes will fit him or not. I noticed his white wet shirt was transparent enough to show what was under it. Just when I realized this would look weird in the others eyes, he covered himself with the towel.
"You're checking me out man. Learn to dissimulate" weird, this... Haaaaa. I lent forward to my closet trying to hide my blushed cheeks and knowing that sweats and an oversized t-shirt is always the way round.
"This will fit, there's the bathroom" he stared at me do to the weird/angry voice of mine.
"Relax mate" he told me and I definitely lost it. My face turned red and the uneasyness was already bothering me.
"You know what" I grabbed a hoodie and another pair of sweats. "I'll go change in my brother's room" I went out and closed the door behind me. I was angry, but I'm not showing it up.
Checking him out, ha. I was trying to be nice c'mon! My soaked shirt was being changed with a warm hoody, so did my pants. Now I'll need to be alone with this guy until mom comes and I can drive him to his place.
I left for the living room and turned on the TV I never find interest in. I heard the guy coming down the stairs.
"Ammm... Thanks dude, sorry if I made things wierd just, that's how I do with my friends you know. I did it by inertia" he draw his hand to the back of his neck, like he always do.
I just hummed in response staring to the TV.
"Rude" he said very quietly hoping on me to not hear but boy, I did.
"K mate, I was trying to be nice. If you really think I'm that rude, as you always call me, feel free to leave whenever you want to" it slept like that. The other guy just stared at the window. It was pouring raining outside.
He didn't said anything. Everything in here was tense. Time wasn't passing fast at all. It was like it didn't wanted to pass by. I stood up and directed upstairs to grab my phone, once in there I remembered why he was in here for. Grabbed the book in one hand and when I made it downstairs again I saw the door closing and no one on the living room.
Can he be more stupid? I thought. I opened it and he was on the porch contemplating the rain as if he was really considering going over there.
"Mate... Don't be an asshole and come back in, it's pouring raining" he looked at me with disgusted eyes.
"Dude, yeah, what the hell was I thinking. I don't even have that much pride" he laughed bitterly knowing that that last sentence wasn't about me. He made it back to the living room, and stared at what was in my hands.
"Oh! Right" Without my concern he grabbed one of my hands and put it away so that he could grab the book. He stared going through the pages.
"The visuals are dope" he said sitting on where he was before.
"Yeah, it is an open diary so, makes sense" I said sitting on the couch opposite to his. I saw his interest on the book. And couldn't help myself.
"The good thing was that it didn't cought your eye" I said to not be as rude as he apparently thinks I am.
"Ha, I told you that when I finish. I never judge a book by its cover" he said playfully. I just laughed at how ironic that sounded. He assumed I was rude since day one, this may not apply on humans.
Some minutes passed, I was on my phone and he was getting deeper into his reading. Later, I heard my mom coming in.
"Seungmin baby, Jisung went to Minho's. Do you want takeout or I don't know" she said while leaving her bag and shoes in the entrance.
"Oh! Hi..." She said surprised for the fact that I wasn't alone.
"Hyunjin, nice to meet you" he stood up and bow politely to greet my mother.
"Mom, can I use the car. He needs to return home" I said so that she understands better the situation.
"Sure" her eyes where screaming who are you. She made her way tho the kitchen and I just followed her with my eyes.
"Aren't you going to stay for dinner? Imma do instant noodles really fast" I started at Hyunjin hoping he says something like: no I really need to get going now thanks a lot.
"It'll be nice, thanks" that eye smile hit my mom as if it was an arrow. She went back to the kitchen and now it was the two of us. Where does that confidence comes from!? He's unbelievable.
And just like that I'm having dinner with someone I bearly know. My mom and Hyunjin are having a good conversation, they are talking about cooking, apparently he knows cooking. I'm just eating trying to block everything in my soroundings .
When I finished my food I realized that both their dishes were empty as well. So I took that as an excuse to stand up and picked up both dishes and mine. I left them on the sink and once out of the kitchen my mom was saying goodbye to Hyunjin.
"Drive carefully sweety, I'll wait for you" she closed the door now behind us and now we were hurrying to the car to no get as wet as before.
"Your mom is really nice" he said as if he was really enjoying spending time with my mom.
"Yeah she is kinda cool with everything" I told him getting out of the parking and starting to drive to his house.
Everything was surprisingly quiet and it was completely fine.
"She calls you baby, how old are you? And how come it doesn't bothers you?" That went out of his mouth out of nowhere.
"What? I mean, am I supposed to be annoyed, ashamed or something?" I said honestly. He only laughed.
"No you shouldn't, but that's how people do" I just hummed and we where kept in silence again.
I drove all the way to his apartment and once in front of the building I parked the car, waiting for him to leave the car.
"Thanks a lot Seungmin, see you around" he went out of the car and I only waved in response.
