   Beep Beep Beep

'school...' That was the only thought that needed to cross the mind of, 16-year-old Jillian Darby, to get her out of bed.

Jillian quickly got dressed into a light purple T-shirt, a grey thin jacket, blue jeans, and her red vans. She looks in the mirror of her almost fully bare room before exiting.

'I feel like I'm forgetting... Oh.' She sees her bed head and brushes it lightly before putting it into a high-ponytail. She then grabs a darker purple headband and slips it on.

On her way down the stairs she looks at a picture of her and her twin brother, Jack Darby. She was extreamly excited to be moving back in with her mom and her brother.

Once Jillian makes it to the bottom of the stairs she sees the last of her belongings in front of the door. She looks to her left and sees the man known as her father, David Richmond, wasted on the couch.

Before leaving Jillian runs over to the kitchen on her right and grabs an apple and her backpack. Walking out of the house, she sees a car pull up. "Excuse me, Miss. Do you live here?" A kind woman who looks to be in her early 30s steps out of the car.

"O-oh, I'm leaving tonight, m-my dad is inside. But you'll have to excuse me, before I'm late to school."

~Jillian's POV~

I quickly made my way down the sidewalk to school. I'm not very skilled socially. I've always been quiet and tried to keep to myself.

Once I got to school I walked to my class. I was about 10 minutes early, so I walked in and sat down. "Hello Ms. Darby." "Hello Mr. Stephans."

Mr. Stephans is the sophomore math teacher. I get good grades, and he leaves me alone. And that's how I like it. I pull out a book I've started reading called 'The Outsiders' and continued from where I left off.

About 20 minutes later, the bell rang and students started filing into the room. I saw Vince, the school's bully, walk in and I imediantly look down, remembering what he had told me yesterday.

Flashback

My nose bleeding and arm bruised, I look up at Vince. "W-what did I-I do wrong?" Tears began to spill from my eyes at that point.

"Y'know, me and your brother got a problem. And by taking a look at your grades..." He holds up my straight A report card. "You seem to be good at fixing problems."

He turns around to walk away "Get rid of that damn motorcycle. Until you do that, this becomes a norm."

End of Flashback

The bell rings and I start heading to my next class. That was until Vince decided to push me to the ground, knocking all of my books from my hands.

"Ha! Look at this loser! I thought you were supposed to be smart!? You can't even walk right!" I started picking up my books, tears threatening to fall. 'Don't cry. Don't cry. Don't cry.'

A boy, no older that 13, came over and started helping me pick up my books. We both stand up and he hands me my books.
