"It will be fine baby girl. Your dad will never think to look for us here." Mom says in a happy tone. I just sigh and turn my head to look out the window not like I could see anything. I hadn't been able to see a thing since my fifth birthday. Mom said my eyes used to be the most perfect shade of blue, now they weren't, they were dull and sightless but she always tried to make me feel better about it. "If you say so mom. I just hope the school is only one story. The last one had stairs and no one told me I was about to fall down them until I was at the bottom with a broken arm." I say before giving a dry laugh. Mom gives a sigh before patting my arm, I knew she loved me and was trying hard to comfort me in her own way. Raising a blind girl was hard on her and she spent ever moment of her free time when I wasn't in school caring for me. All my books were in braille and I had a cellphone to talk to me when I got a text so at least that was a plus in my eyes.

"The school is one story I already checked. I also got your school schedule and have it in your phone for you. The school will take a few days to get your books for you but other than that things are fine. Trust me on this one alright dear." Mom says and I could just imagine the loving smile on her face. "Right mom." I say nodding my head and we fall back into silence until we reach the school. Mom parks and we get out. I hated using my walking stick but it was a necessary evil, this was one downside of high school, getting made fun of for my sunglasses and walking stick. Mom holds my left arm as I use my walking stick in my right hand. We arrive at the office and mom talks to the office lady. "Amy Lavender what a nice name. Jennifer will be here to help you get to your classes today." The office lady says making a few tapping sounds. I feel a kiss on my cheek before mom leading me over to some place. "Sit. Now I will meet you here in the office when school is over. If anything bad happens just send me a text." Mom says before she places another kiss on my cheek.

"Fine mom." I say before giving a small sigh. Soon I hear a door open and the click of heels on the tiled floor. "Hi Miss. Jewels. I heard I was showing the new girl around." A bubbly girl voice says and I flinch a little knowing this girl was going to be showing me around. "Yes. Amy sitting over there needs to be shown around. Please help her out all day Jennifer." Miss. Jewels says, I guess that was the office lady's name. The quick click of heels was soon coming closer to me and I feel a hand on my shoulder making me look up at whoever it was. "I'm Jennifer. I will be showing you around today." She says and I could just see a big bubbly smile on a blond haired girl. "Amy nice to meet you." I say as I stand and snap my walking stick to it's full size. She gasp a little and I tilt my head to the side. "Is something wrong?" I ask as I glance over at where I was guessing she was at.

"N...nothing." She stutters out before she takes my left hand. I hated when people treated me like I was incapable of doing anything. "So what is your first class?" Jennifer asks and I give a sigh before pulling my hand from hers. I pull my phone from my pocket and run my fingers over the buttons until I find the number five then press it. "First class, English room one o five. Teacher Mr. Winter. Second class, Math room thirty. Teacher Miss. Pillar....." The robotic voice says and I let it play out. I could hear a scratching sound before a sigh. "We have almost all our classes together that is great." She says in a happy tone making me frown a little. We make it to our class and I give a sigh as Jennifer pulls me over to the teacher. "Mr. Winter this is Amy. She's new to the school." Jennifer says and I could hear a disapproving sigh. "Glasses off." He says and I stiffen before sighing softly and reaching up to push my sun glasses up on my face. "I'm Amy Lavender." I say and there was shuffling on a desk before a sigh. "Jennifer take her to her seat. She will be sitting on the left of Mr. Hill." Mr. Winter says.

I was silent as I hear people walk into the room, the whispers and bodies bumping into my desk but no one said a word to me. "Your new." A male voice to my right says and I turn my head to look in the direction of the voice. "I am. I'm Amy Lavender." I say and offer him my hand. He takes it and I feel sparks as if he had been walking on carpet with his feet dragging on the ground. "Jason Hill." He says as he shake my hand up and down a few times. There was the click of heels once again before my hand was slapped from Jason's hand. "Baby why are you touching that thing." A whinny girl's voice asks and I scoff a little before looking ahead. I pull out my book and let my fingers run over the words of the book. It was one of my favorites and I felt that this would give me courage at my new school. "Introducing myself." Jason says and the girl gives an annoyed sigh before the sound of heels grinding into the ground meets my ears. "It's rude to wear sunglasses in class." The girl says before she knocks my book from my hands making it fall to the floor. I frown a little before reaching out for my book.
