Jason's pov.
The moment we heard that Amy's mom was going to be gone I felt worried. I was so happy that Jennifer said we were taking her with us to the pack house. The one thing I was worried about was my parents meeting Amy. I had told them last night I had meet my mate and they were ecstatic to hear that, not so much when I said she was human but they were understanding. I already loved her and I loved the fact that she trusted me so easily. "You don't have to take me to your house. I'll be fine alone." Amy says and I could hear hidden fear in her voice but she had a brave face. "Well we want you to hang out with us. Besides who else is going to help you with the homework from today?" Jennifer asks in a happy tone, Jim shots her a warning glare. Jim as the great friend and beta he was, was very skeptical of having Amy around at all. He saw her as his Luna but he worried about her being blind.
"I guess so." Amy mumbles softly before she gives a frustrated sigh but I noticed the small hidden smile she gave when she turned her head a little to glance over at me. Once we arrived at the pack house I help Amy out of the car and keep a tight hold on her as I help her up the stairs and into the house. The pups who were to young to go to school were running around and one of the younger girls ran right into Amy's legs. Amy stumbles back a little and I hold her up tightly so she wouldn't fall over. "Danny that wasn't nice." I say and she looks up at me with wide green eyes. Her blond hair was in pig tails and she had on a light pink dress. "I'm sorry." She says in a soft tone and the questioning look on Amy's face was soon gone. She crouches down so she was at the same level as Danny before reaching for the little hand. Danny quickly took it looking at Amy with wonder and confusion. "Are you alright sweetie?" Amy asks her a soft smile on her face and Danny gives her a bright smile. "I'm ok. Your really pretty." She says making Amy blush a little.
"Your prettier than me. Now you should go play and be safe alright?" Amy says before gently patting Danny's hand. Danny glances up at me with curiosity I give her a small nod and she smiles brightly at Amy before nodding her head and leaving us alone. I help Amy up before giving a small laugh. "She gave you a big toothless smile and nodded her head. That is Danny. She is a cute little four year old." I say and Amy nods her head. I look over at where Jennifer and Jim had been but they were now gone. I give a small sigh before looking around. "Jason." Mom calls from the kitchen and I stiffen a little. Amy tilts her head a little to the side, a cute concentrated look on her face. "That is my mom. Come on I'll introduce you." I say as I pull her behind me to the kitchen. "Mom I brought Amy over." I say and mom gives an excited sequel making Amy flinch a little from the sound. We finally walk into the kitchen and mom turns to look at us her eyes going wide the moment she lays eyes on Amy.
"Mom this is Amy, Amy this is my mom." I say before looking over at my mate who give a shy smile. 'Jason is she blind?' Mom asks me through the mind link and I give a small sigh before nodding my head quickly. "It's nice to meet you Mrs. Hill." Amy says in a shy tone, her blush getting darker and she turns her head to the side so she wasn't looking at my mom. Mom gives a sigh before she walks over to us wiping her hands dry before taking both of Amy's hands in hers. "It's nice to meet you too Amy." Mom says with a warm smile. I could see in her eyes that mom's wolf already felt very protective of her just like ever other wolf who has meet Amy in the last two days. "Jason your dad needs to talk to you. Amy why don't you keep me company until Jason can get back?" Mom asks and Amy gives a stiff nod before smiling lightly. My wolf was on edge at the thought of leaving my defenseless mate alone with my mom.
Amy's pov.
I felt a little uneasy as Jason left me alone with his mom. He had gently pat my lower back before he left and now I was sitting on this bar stool playing with my fingers listening to Jason's mom hum lightly the soft click of dishes braking in every once in a while. "So Amy what is your favorite subject in school?" She finally asks and I give a small sigh before hanging my head a little. "I like English." I finally say and she gives a small sigh. "Jason likes English as well. He loves to read just about everything he can get his hands on." She says before I feel something cold and smooth placed against my hand. I quickly open it and take whatever it was before using my other hand to feel around it. "It's just a cup of water. Your blind aren't you?" She finally says and I could hear her sit down next to me. I reach up with my free hand and gently touch under my eye, something I avoided doing as much as I could, I hated not seeing anymore. "Yes I am." I finally say feeling a little ashamed by this fact.
