i had ran away from my home after my mother Catherine McCarty had died. the state had came to take me and my brother and put us in frost care. my brother was alright with being in frost care. but i wanted adventure and to see what i haven't seen. i kept running until i came to Lincoln County New Mexico i stayed in old houses and old barns for shelter and for food i would take food from any place that i could get it. sometimes i would go for a very long time without eating thing, i did great with staying hidden and out of sight. but Doc Scurlock had saw me around town. as always i was running from something that is what i seemed to do best was run from something or someone. i had made it the old house that i was staying in when i had opened the door there was Doc with his friends Chavez and Sam. i thought to myself well you have really done it this time William Bonney you have got your self caught who knows what they are going to do. but Doc and his friends Chavez and Sam became friends with me. they always brought me something to eat i was very thankful to them for the food. i can remember the day that had got hurt badly by my stepfather, i was in Beaver's saloon with my new friends when my stepfather kidnapped me and had hurt me very badly and left me laying the street to die. and i would have died if Doc's other friends hadn't found me when they did. and i in turn saved the life of my now adopted father. and i went from being homeless to having a home and from being an orphan to having a family and friends
