Jason and I shook hands and affirmed the whole partnership idea. his hand shake was firm but comforting and I was uncomfortable when my heart wanted it to last longer.
Jason began to walk away from me and towards his huge super computer across the room.
He sat down in a black swivel chair and spun around once or twice before sliding his legs under the desk. his fingers began typing a hundred miles an hour and his computer screens tried to keep up.
About 5 minuets went by and a giant password text box appeared on a screen right in the center of all the others.
10 little red dots appeared one after another, then Jason just hit the enter key and turned his chair to me.
"Well sense were partners now I decide to show you something we can both use ."
Rising from the chair slowly he gestured over to a big blank wall. the wall was right under the catwalk and was shaded from the warehouses burning light fixtures.
I stood Back a couple of feet and watched to see what Jason was doing.
He pressed his hand on a couple of the white bricks, extending his fingers as far apart as possible. all his body weight shifted onto this one arm and he pushed his hand as hard against the wall as he could.
The wall surrounding his hand caved in and a loud click noise broke through our silence .the wall began to slide backwards about an inch or two and then slowly descended through a tiny slot in the floor that just barley fitted it.
The walls disappearance revealed a dark abyss and I couldn't see any thing in it. Jason reached into his back pocket and grabbed a cigarette lighter and began to walk into the darkness.
The lighter only served as a tiny light source but was better than nothing at all. Jason skimmed his hand against the wall and walked steadily behind.
"Ah here we go"
Jason flipped a light switch and the room was immediately flooded with white hot light. I dropped to the floor holding my arm in front if my face to Protect it from incinerating.
"Well I guess that's payback for the leg"
I slowly stood up and punched him in the shoulder in a jerky freind type of way for the remark.
I removed my arm from my face and began to blink really fast to regain my vision and not go completely blind.
The room was filled to the brim with guns and other weapons and they were all sparkling as if just bought.
Jason stared at me and laughed at how I looked like a kid in a candy store.
My jaw felt like it was permanently out of place due to such beauty.
i tried to find the right words to explain my excitement
"Are these all yours"!
He gave me his smirk,
"Yep all my babies locked and ready to kill". Wanna try one".
My face light up
"Hell ya!"
"Pick which ever one you want, and if you can shot it well enough I'll let you keep it".
I just realized that Jason had never seen me shoot besides when I missed the joker but man was he in for a surprise.
I grabbed a metallic machine gun off the wall and put my eye to the scope. I aimed the gun straight at Jason.
"Your sure you know how to shoot that right"?
Jason eyes were horrified but his body language came off more as trying to keep calm. I pulled the trigger and shot a silvery bullet right next to his head scraping the top of his ear and touching the tips of his hair.
Before he had time to react I shot out all the lights in room leaving us absorbed in darkness. right under the gun was a jagged knife and I decided to have a little more fun then intended.
Before I betrayed the assassins I was taught how to fight in the dark so I had pretty much become nocturnal. when we first came in the room I couldn't see a thing because the contrast of light and dark was to much for my brain but know we were in pure darkness which meant I could finally see straight. I saw Jason grabbing for his lighter so I rushed behind him and got into position. He scrolled his thumb down the dial and spark of fire broke the darkness. he waved around trying to find me and I put the jagged knife up to his flesh throat.
"I think I can do a lot more than shoot".
"JESUS YOU SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME!!"What the hell is wrong with you"!
I laughed at how babyish he was acting.
"You wanted a show so I delivered".
"You are way to good at that".
He said wiping the sweat from his forehead.
"Well I won't have to worry about you in the field."
Jason began to walk out of the room and back into the warehouse floor.
"You do know I'm gonna make you pay for those lights right, cause it gets pretty dark in her at night."
He said while flicking on all the rest of light of the warehouse.
"Well I would have your money but that was in my suit and you have put it who knows where."
I sarcastically raise my eyebrow and cross my arms.
"Oh right about that..........."
His voice trails off and he scratches the back off his head.
"What"
"Well you know how I told you about my freind Cassie and how she patched you up"
"Ya"
"Well to do that she need to get pass all your armor and neither of us could really figure that out and you were kinda at the verge of dying so we just cut you out of it."And sense it was so ripped up we just decided to toss it".
I filled with rage over his stupidity.
" ARE YOU SERIOUS! That had all my money in it, not to mention the key to my house."Where the hell I'm suppose to stay!"
Jason was set back and how angry i was
"Uh well I guess you can just stay here you've been doing it for almost a week now."
I rolled my eyes but was still angry, I guess if we are gonna be serious about this whole partnership we might as well get to know one another on a more personal level.
"I can sleep I the couch and you can take your bed back."
I thought he deserved his own bed after all.
"Oh okay..... "
"Well if you don't mind I'm gonna head up and hit the hay".
I just now realized what time it was and found myself yawning too.
"Sounds great.......goodnight than."
"Night"
He stretched his arm out to the spiral stair cases rail and began to disappear into the darkness. I stepped toward the couch and put my hands out in front of me so I didn't run into anything, using the Tvs brightness to direct me around.
I sprawled myself against the dark grey cushions and wrapped myself in a bundled up blanket stuffed in between a couple pillows. I ignore the tv but refuse to turn it off, and I fall fast asleep under its flickering lights. the lights are chaotic and frantic but soothe me.
I let my eyes close slowly and heavily and then I'm once again surrounded by darkness.
