A/n: I feel like I should mention, modern technology still exists within this AU! ^_^
"WE GET TO LIVE HERE?" Mabel screeched looking at the building. Dipper couldn't believe it either, as his jaw hung wide open.
Stan gave a sad laugh, "Uh... not exactly pumpkin," he sighed, "That's just the garage."
Dipper nodded, "There's sure a lot of room here," he mentioned, "And since there's a gate, then we won't have to worry as much about predators attacking in the night. Is it okay if we use the stepping stones as pillows or are those off limits? I mean, I'm sure Mabel and I could use our old rocks, but..."
It took Ford a few moments before he realized what Dipper was implying, "Son, do you really think Stan and I are going to make you sleep outside?"
"I don't understand," Dipper stated, "If we're not going to live in the garage, and if we're not going to sleep outside, where are we going to sleep?"
"In the castle, squirt!" Stan exclaimed pointing out where the actual castle was. Dipper's eyes widened. It was humongous. And Mabel and him thought the garage was huge.
He raised an eyebrow, "We're allowed in the castle?"
"Yeah...?" Stan answered, "Why wouldn't you be?"
"I just thought only the upper class could go into the castle," Dipper admitted, "It's not like my sister and I are royalty or anything."
"I know this is a lot to take in, son," Ford began, "But, uh, you and your sister are in fact elites now."
"Oh... oh yeah... sorry,"
"No need to apologize," Ford smiled, "Let's go inside!"
The group walked up to the front gate and pushed the doors wide open. Somehow, the castle seemed even bigger now that they were standing inside it. To their left was a few sofas and a fireplace, while to their right was an empty room.
"We uh, we weren't sure to do with that room," Stan explained as the kids continued to look around. Cautiously, Mabel walked towards the empty room. She smiled sitting down on the floor.
"Dipper, the floor is so much better than the ground outside!" She exclaimed, motioning for Dipper to join her. As the other walked to sit besides his sister, Mabel smiled at the Stans, "We could make this our room, if that's okay?"
"We actually already have a room for you guys," Ford explained, "Or rooms if you will. You don't even have to share if you don't want to."
The younger twins glanced at each other. They didn't even have to share? Well, there was a lot of floor space. "Come on, we have more stuff to show you!"
The twins followed Stan and Ford as they showed the two around the building and gave basic descriptions of every room. Though, it was a lot of information to take in. The kitchen contained more food than either of them had ever seen, the water in the bathrooms was so clean Mabel was sure it was sparkling - the castle even had an elevator if they didn't want to take the stairs.
"I knew the poverty was bad, but I didn't know it was this bad," Stan mumbled to Ford while Dipper and Mabel were fascinated with the TV.
"I know," he replied, "Have they really never seen clean water before?"
"You gotta admit, we probably have some of the cleanest water within the kingdom," Stan reminded, "But still, they thought we were gonna make them sleep outside."
Ford frowned, "We're going to have to fix that problem, but for now, I'd do anything for these kids! Like look at them!"
"Dipper! Dipper this is the coolest TV show ever! Look at that diamond!"
"Why would there be a whole show about someone selling rings? And why does it only last a couple seconds,"
Stan chuckled, "That's a commerical Dip, they're made to sell items. It's not an actual show. Why don't we show you guys your room?" He suggested. The kids smiled brightly and followed Stan and Ford upstairs to one of the rooms.
"Now, we know it's not much," Ford began as they entered the room. The room itself was giant and looked about the size of two rooms. A walk in closet and bathroom were connected on the left side and a bed with only a mattress rested on the right. "But-"
"DIPPER! THE CARPET IT'S SO SOFT!" Mabel exclaimed, "Are you sure this is our room? It's so nice!" She paused, "Too nice... we can't sleep on this carpet. It's too nice for us,"
"Good thing you're not sleeping on the carpet then," Stan replied.
"Have either of you slept in a bed before?" Ford wondered. His heart cracked when both Mabel and Dipper shook their heads. He sighed, taking their hands, "Alright, follow me,"
Ford lead the kids to the other side of the room where the mattress was located. He smiled, "Sit here,"
Although the kids were reluctant at first, they soon complied and sat on the bed. Mabel's eyes widened, "This... this is a cloud. Dipper they got an actual cloud!"
"We get to sleep here?"
Stan nudged Ford, "Wait until they hear about blankets,"
Dipper shot up from his spot on the bed, "King Ford, I thought you said the room wasn't complete. It looks fine to me,"
"Well, we still need to get blankets and pillows for the beds and anything else you guys might want for your room. In fact, there's quite a few items we need to get you two, such as new clothes."
"I don't think either of us could afford new clothes right now," Dipper sighed.
Stan waved a dismissive hand, "Don't worry about it, we'll have you covered!
"We're gonna get new clothes??" Now it was Mabel who shot up. The Stans nodded as she beamed.
"We'll go right now if you want to," Ford smiled.
"YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!" Mabel exclaimed, "Come on, Dipper let's go!"
