Warning: contains spoilers for season 6 of Legends of Tomorrow.

The darkness has always threathened to consume her. After all Sara has done, she finds that it's always lurking behind the corner somewhere.

She spent years looking for the light, only to realize her shadow is still following her. Even on the sunniest days, her shadow is still behind her. And it terrifies her deeply.

The thought of being consumed by the dark ones again has her searching for even the smallest little fireflies to give her even a sprankle of hope.

And when she finds herself stuck on an alien planet, bitten by what she could only describe as a monster desguised as a human, with no hope of surviving or ever seeing her girl again, her whole being lights up at the sight of a firefly in the distance.

But when more appear, she knows something is wrong. Someone like her doesn't deserve that much light, not unless the light has come to haunt her.

And that is exactly what it's doing, because those aren't fireflies, those are clones of Ava. And she has seen enough clones of her fiancée, to know that they generally intent to kill her.

And they did. All but one. Eve, as she wanted to be called, was a rebel. Which is also something she wanted to be called, because a 'flawed prototype' isn't very charming.

But Eve helped her get back home to her family, her friends, and Ava. Something Sara will be the rebel forever greatful for.

Ava is too, at least she tries to be. It is just proven to be increasingly difficult with a constant reminder of her unoriginality wandering around on the Waverider. And above that, her clone seems uncapable of keeping her hands off Sara.

Headed for the bridge, Ava takes a quick glance into the Galley, only to flinch at what she sees. Eve has her hand on Sara's lower back, while casually making conversation with Ava's fiancee.

"So this machine can make anything you want?"

Sara nods in response, not back to her full self yet after being bitten by Amelia Earheart. Gideon has tried her best to heal her, but the equipment in the Medbay is meant for human diseases.

And what that alien did to her was anything but human.

But she'll be okay. She is Sara Lance after all, she's always okay. Although her troat is a bit dry, her head constantly seems to be pounding, and her voice left her somewhere between Jupiter and Mars.

"Are you okay?" Eve asks, voice laid with consern.

Which feels like a punch in the gut to Ava, who was still observing the scene. She should be the one asking that question. She should be the one holding Sara right now. Not her.

But Sara doesn't even know she's there. Instead the smaller blonde makes a sign with her hand, which leaves Ava confused.

Not Eve though, her clone knows exactly what Sara means. "You're tired. That's okay, we can do this some other time. I'll tuck you in."

With a dazed nod from Sara, her clone leads the younger blonde to her room. As they pass her, Ava quickly hides, only to realize much later that it was a stupid action and she should've just let herself be seen.

But she can't even think straight at the moment. Her whole being is clouded with unfamiliar and contradicting emotions that have only one thing in common: they hurt. The whole scene just hurt so bad.

After doing everything she could to find Sara, after finally having her back, all her fiancée does is spent time with a clone of her.

A thought that haunts her for not only the night, but also the day after. A day filled with scenes like the one she witnessed in the Galley, each scene bringing her one step closer to either killing her clone or breaking down herself.
