I woke up to find my body aching all over, I had been beaten before but never this badly, I could feel someone looking at me so I instantly got up but started wincing at the pain "hey, hey, no it's ok you need to rest" came a familiar voice, it was the man from earlier. He had gotten up to... help me? "No I-I need to cl-clean" he sighed after I said this and sat down on the bed with his head in his hands

"W-what's wrong?"
"I don't know how your father can treat you like this, how long has it been going on for?"
"Since I was a baby..."
"WHAT!?"
"I-I'm sorry"
"No I'm sorry I shouldn't have scared you like that... can you tell me what he did?"
"He-he would leave me at home to go out drinking as a baby and he would burn me with his cigars" I could feel the man tense up as I said these words as if this wasn't normal?

"He... he did that to you Y/n?"
"Y-yeah only when I was a baby though"
"He stopped hurting you as you got older? Apart from last night of course" I chuckled at that
"No of course not he would start hitting me when I was old enough to walk and talk the beatings got worse recently but half of that's my fault"
"How is it your fault?"
"I got in his way yesterday and tripped over his foot"
"You mean he tripped you up?"
"Y-yeah and this nail went through my cheek" I said as I pulled out the nail from my pocket

He gasped
"Did he do anything to help you?"
"Yeah he got me some cloths to clean up the house with"
"No Y/n did he help your injuries?"
"Oh... no he never does I just took it out and started cleaning I didn't want to upset him again." The man said nothing but his breathing was heavy and he sounded angry

"Excuse me umm-"
"Remus, Remus Lupin"
"Excuse me Mr Lupin but are you ok?"
"I will be and please call me Remus"
"Ok, Remus" we both laughed at that but our smiles quickly faded as my father came in.    

"Y/n. Here. Now."
"Y-yes father" as I went to approach him Remus stood in front of me.
"Remus" came the angry tone of my father
"She's not going anywhere near you. I know what you've done to her and you're disgusting"
"Remus for Merlin's sake I was gonna give the pathetic girl some food!" My eyes quickly lit up at this statement, I could not remember the last time I ate .

My father approached me, gave me the plate and whispered "there you useless bitch! It's been a while since I fed you"
"Th-thank you father" and with that he stormed out the room

"Oh Y/n you can't eat that" Remus said whilst staring at the two pieces of stale bread on my lap
"What do you mean? Remus I can't remember the last time he's given me so much food!"
"Y-Y/n..." a tear rolled down his face
"Remus what's wrong?"
"Th-this is not a proper meal Y/n no matter how much you think it is, this is something that you would feed someone like Kreature"

"B-but my father always said we didn't have much food?"
"Y/n there's a whole kitchen full, you should know that!"
"He always said it was for display not for eating?"
"No Y/n it's very much for eating"
"O-oh"

{Remus's POV}
This poor girl was not only beaten, starved and verbally abused but she thought it was ok! I knew what I had to do I couldn't bare to see her like this anymore.

"Y-Y/n would you like to come and live with me? Get away from your father? You could have proper cooked meals 3 times a day, any snacks you want and a nice big bedroom all to yourself! You wouldn't have to clean or do any of the house work"

I didn't know what to say it was almost as if Remus was offering me a brand new life! But could I accept it? Could I really leave my father?

"Remus I-I don't know if I can... my father-"
"Don't worry about your father I'll deal with him you get some rest and you can decide in the morning"

"Ok thank you so much Remus but I think I have my decision..."

"Yes..."

"I'd love to! Thank you Remus"

"That's great I'll go and talk to your dad you just go to sleep and I'll pack your stuff when it's time to leave"
