Maverik Yilan

It surprised me that the killer queen decided to join me on my finding Ember hunt. Although I do not feel endangered when I am around her, it is a strange feeling that my gifts are giving me when I am around her.

We have been on the road for half a day, travelling towards Lastar with a stranger is anything from what I had planned to do. Being accompanied by the king's most lethal guard was also against my wishes, even though that Lennox and I were friends. I know that she will always choose his side when she has to.

The adrenaline rushing through Sol's nerves is fuelling me up at this very moment, I suppose that she has found a new goal to achieve. Although getting to know that your brother isn't in fact dead, must make your blood run faster too.

"May I ask you a question?" It was the first time that Sol said something after the big argument she had with Rei before we left. I've never heard someone speak that way to him and see them breathing after, he seems to have a blind eye when it comes to the fiery lady. The poor man is still desprate for a child that is long gone. His heart aches for her honest giggles and joy, whilst she has become nothing more than a sarcastic murderer behind a pretty face. "You're going to ask anyway, does not matter if I say yes or no." She smiles, her elven ears slightly moving upward. "Why do you wield a bow and arrow? You won't be able to defend yourself with those when your prey comes up close." I raise a brow at her choice of words. "Why do you wield two swords?" She beams, it is an amusing smile.

"Because they double the fun."

A sigh leaves Lennox's lips and my eyes are directed towards her. "What?" I ask her. "She's a child trying to act tuff." Sol pulls a sword from her back and pulls Lennox's head back by her braids, silver pinching her jawline a second later. "Say that again and you'll be a corpse trying to act mature." This woman is truly amusing. "Let go of me." Sol does as Lennox orders her to do and the sword ends up back in its sheath instead of someone's flesh.

"Are you certain that you're up to crossing the border, Mave?" Lennox asks as she reaches for my support when the path gets rough under her bare feet. "Of course."
"Do not lie to me." I check Sol for a second, I secretly hope that she too is carrying trauma and will not judge me for talking about mine. "As long as I'm not back in chains, I'll be fine." Sol keeps her mouth shut as she makes her way through the woods, like us.

"There is a party near." She then says, eyes pointing towards the distance. I now to hear the slight bass of some kind of music. "We aren't here to party," Lennox mutters. "Can you two party poopers at least have fun one night? Before we die?" I feel Lennox's grip on my arm stiffen for a second, trying to silently tell me no. "Sure."  Nails digging in my skin. "Then find me a place to wait."

It took us an hour to find a tavern to leave Lennox at, "You do realise that we just wasted a day?" Sol gulps down the shot as soon as it is in her reach. "I do good on time pressure." She says with a smile. I shake my head and smile, ordering 6 more alcohol enrobed drinks. "Let's play a game; never have I ever." She grins. "If you have, you drink."

Oh god, I already know that this woman is going to be the death of me.

"Sure." The bartender serves us a bunch of drinks after my additional order. "I'll start easy. Never have I ever kissed a boy." She begins, alcohol already slipping past her lips and I follow her gesture. "Oh boy, this is going to be an interesting night."

"Never have I ever slept with more than one person at the same time." She raises her brows at my words and does not touch glass, watching me down the liquor. "Never have I ever skinny-dipped." A grin on her face as we both take a shot. "You're not as boring as I thought you were, Mave." Her pointy finger touching my chest for a second as she smiles. "Never have I ever slept with the king." Sol almost spits the liquid back out when she noticed that I too had drunk another glass. "Holy fuck."

I am editing the chapters at the moment. If you'd like, you can read the previous story down below for a little while longer. Just know that even though the characters may be or act slightly similar, that it is not adding up to the chapters above. I try to edit as much as fast as possible, for now, this is how far I am.

Thank you for reading.

love, Lizzy.
