You had been living with Derek Hale for the past week. You and your brother Isaac had been on the run and in hiding ever since your father was murdered. You didn't feel sorry for him, he deserved it. He had hit and beat your younger brother and he had done things to you that would make any preacher quit. You tried your best to protect Isaac. You weren't even sure if he truly knew what all your father had done to you. Derek's place was an old train depot. There was a giant train car in one room and the other had what looked like a small apartment. It was sketchy as can be. Derek also never seemed to eat, that was clear by his bare cabinets. "If we are going to stay here I need you to get groceries so I can at least eat." You had snapped at him the first day. He reluctantly took the long list you made and got it for you.

You were cooking dinner one night when you spilled butter all over your shirt. You cursed at yourself and went to find another one. You quickly realized you only had one shirt. Looking at the laundry area there was a large black shirt folded on top. You grabbed it and changed into it. Placing your old clothes in the wash, you were left in the large shirt and your small shorts. At first you questioned who's shirt it was but then you caught a whiff. The aroma of Derek filled your nostrils and you relaxed, feeling safe. Even though you hated him, he made you feel safer. You waited on the pack to return home but they didn't. You ate alone, and left the leftovers in the small fridge. You were used to being alone, you were human after all living with 4 werewolves. You curled up onto the beaten up couch that sat in the corner of the room and threw the old blanket over yourself. You struggled to find sleep at first but the constant smell of Derek allowed you to finally close your eyes.

Derek returned with Isaac, Boyd and Erica. They found the leftovers in the fridge and got super excited. They loved when you cooked. Derek however was drawn to a strange chemo-signal he had never felt in the train depot. He couldn't find the source of it until a little bundle moved on the couch, catching his eye. His eyes watched you. There you laid, the blanket wrapped around your arms, your bare legs spread along the couch. He did a double take when he saw what you were wearing. His favorite black shirt covered your smaller frame, stopping at your thighs. Little snores left your mouth that caused Derek to smile a little. He finally realized what he was sensing. Your chemo-signals were strong. He was filled with pride when he finally determined what it was. You felt safe. Derek smiled to himself, watching you inhale into his shirt. "She feels safe in my shirt." He thought to himself.
