" How do I look?" I asked, doing a quick twirl in front of the mirror, Ed standing behind me.I was wearing a knee length, tight black dress with a shimmery purple shrug over top and black heels to match.
" you look fabulous!" He replied, he always has a way to make me smile, I thought to myself
We arrived at the Main Street Club at around 8:45pm,
" what do you want to drink?" Ed asked, yelling over the extremely loud music and cheering crowds.
"Apple and Barcardi!" I replied, I had to strain my voice in order for him to hear me.
Minutes later we were both seated together drinking our drinks,
" I'll be right back babe" I said as I got up and left to go to the rest room.
As I pushed my way through the thick crowds of people, I made out the ladies sign printed on a door to my right,
I was just about to enter when a strong hand grasped my shoulder, pulling me backwards.
My eyes suddenly came into focus, allowing me to see the person who had pulled me down.
It was him.
" Mark! What are you doing!?" I yelled, allowing him to hear my voice" most likely the same you love!" He spat, talking very quietly for such a loud room. " who is he!?" Mark demanded, he had anger in his voice.
" who is who?" I replied, playing dumb, hoping he'd fall for it.
" The guy who bought you that drink?" Hissed Mark as his grip tightened around my neck and shoulder, " who is he!?"
" A friend" I muttered, Hoping he'd loosen his grip on my neck, but that only made it hurt more.
Nobody even noticed what was going on, surely Ed was wondering where I'd got too?
" that's fucking bullshit!" He yelled, his breath reeking of alcohol as spit landed on my face, " don't you lie to me Missy" the hand that wasn't ahold of me shakily pointing a finger at my face.
" Mark let me go!" I struggled to try and get free, when suddenly I felt a painful blow to my stomach, which left me double over in pain. I looked up to see a fist coming at my face, there was no time to duck, it had already hit me, leaving my jaw in agonising pain.
Mark pushed his way back through the ocean of dancing people and out of the main entrance, leaving me in agony and exhaustion.
I stood up off the tiled floor, my jaw aching and my stomach pulsing, making the pain worse.
I couldn't tell him.
I couldn't tell Ed.
I returned to my seat, Ed smiled at me brightly, he'd obviously missed me.
" where did you go to pee!?" He laughed " bloody Africa!?" He said cheekily.
I weakly smiled, he automatically frowned as soon as he saw my expression
"You alright love?" He asked, his voice sounding very serious at this point.
" um yes I'm fine, just not feeling to good that's all, could we go?" I lied to him, I felt so bad.
" oh sure" he replied sympathetically, his eyebrows still fixed in a serious shape.
I stumbled out onto the street, my jaw aching and my stomach feeling like it had been ripped into shreds, I wasn't going to say anything, but I could tell he knew something was up.
