I turned to the guys who had followed me out of the Dark Wizard's castle. Jimin's hair was disheveled and tears were rolling down his plump cheeks. Hoseok's eyes were filled with sadness and something else I couldn't understand. Taehyung had a similar expression on his face and Jin was biting down on his lip as though he were trying to stop himself from weeping. Jungkook, Yoongi, and Namjoon's expressions were a bit harder to read, but I could tell there was something they wanted to say, something they needed to say.

Knowing it wouldn't help to prolong the inevitable, I hurriedly hugged each of them. "Thank you all so much. Thank you for helping me, for helping me to get here." I wiped the tears from Jimin's cheeks. "Please don't be sad. You got what you wanted, what you came here for."

Jimin went to say something, but stopped himself instead. Namjoon put a hand on my shoulder, his eyes pleading. "Don't let this be a goodbye. Not forever."

Unsure how to make that promise, I gave him a smile. "I'm sure... sure we'll see each other again." I turned to go, knowing I had a long journey ahead of me.

At a hand to my wrist, I stopped. "Please let me take you home. It will be much quicker." I turned to see Hoseok standing behind me. "I can shift and fly you there."

After hesitating a moment, I nodded my head, knowing Hoseok was right. In a cloud of smoke, Hoseok shifted and before I knew it, a massive dragon with glittering red and black scales was crouched in front of me.

"Meet us in the clearing outside of Wolf Woods, the place we all spent that first night together." Jin held out both hands to me, raised in a plea. "Please. Please come there after you cure your brother. Please. We'll... we'll wait for you." He turned to the others who nodded in agreement.

I nodded, knowing I wanted one more night to spend with them, to laugh with them, to really say our goodbyes. "I'll be there." I didn't miss the smile that broke through the grief on Jimin's face or the expressions of happiness that passed over the rest of their faces.

Moving towards Hoseok, I used his scales to climb onto his broad back, hanging on tightly to his thick neck. With a last smile at the others, I closed my eyes tightly as Hoseok spread his massive iridescent wings and took to the sky. I could feel the wind rushing across my face as he began to soar over the lands. Opening my eyes, I took a hesitant look over the edge of Hoseok's back as he flew. I recognized the river we had followed, the sparkling ribbon disappearing into Wolf Woods. Images of meeting Namjoon raced through my mind and the way his silver hair had glimmered in the moonlight. As we flew over the Inferno, the gaping hole of the pit was still stunningly void of flame and I knew Yoongi couldn't wait to set it alight again.

The dark spires of Departed Castle appeared right below us and I couldn't help but remember the night we had spent there with Jungkook and the story he had told me about his parents, about his curse. The river turned murky as we flew over the Vacant River section of it and I could almost make out the bridge we had crossed when Taehyung told me about why sirens and humans hated each other. We flew a little farther and I could see Heavenly Rock appearing, the massive stone a beautiful reminder of Jin and the midnight wings I had become entranced with the night we met him.

Flying through Daybreak Mountains, I patted Hoseok's neck, a puff of smoke erupting from his nostrils as he turned his head towards me. I knew he anxious to get back to this place devoid of vegetation, the place he called home. The river once again disappeared into the woods and I knew we were close to the Night Woods and Fairy Grove. As we flew over the trees, a flash of silver came soaring out, an Iridescent Eagle. It made me think of Jimin, my sweet fairy that had been with me from the beginning of my journey. Thinking of him, along with the others, made my heart shatter a little, knowing that as much as I cared for them, we were from different worlds, different realms.
