"what's that?" fushiguro motions to the lifeless body laying on the other side of the 30 foot gaping hole.

everyone else's heads whip around to where fushiguro motioned to.

"looks like a dead body." itadori comments, though he doesn't begin to move closer to it.

they all look at each other exchanging similar interested glances.

"what if it's the user?" yuji asks.

"well, guess they weren't as strong as we thought." gojo answers with slight disappointment.

"salmon," inumaki says as they all begin to walk over to the body laying on the opposite side of the hole. upon approaching it, they all could see the holes piercing the body entirely. the pool of blood that the body lay in, dripped down the sides of the hole to the levels below, leaving a puddle not far down.

"that's definitely dead." fushiguro says.

they all nodded in agreement whilst looking at the body in awe.

at the very moment when y/n let all the energy escape her body, she felt a sense of emptiness accompanied with the feeling of a thousand little pricks all over her body.

the expulsion of her cursed energy had created a large crater in the third level floor. the shockwaves had heavily cracked the beams supporting the top level and it was obvious that the parking garage could collapse sometime soon.

y/n peered over the dead curse's body that was absolutely covered with holes piercing it all the way through. she could sense the small amount of cursed energy that lingered around the dead curse and decided to absorb it to help her fatigue the best she could. a process like that barely took any time, especially considering the small amount she was taking in.

she stood up proud of how she was able to accomplish cursed energy expression for the first time. the third time was definitely a charm. she did a little victory dance to congratulate herself for her hard work. before she could continue her mini celebration, she felt 4 figures running towards her. one of them had an immense amount of cursed energy compared to the other 3, who she could tell were especially strong themselves.

worrying that she'd be caught by sorcerers, she ran the opposite way that they were coming from. jumping out of the parking garage, she dove into a broken window of the nearby run down building, landing smoothly into a forward roll. she immediately stood up and began running igniting her cursed energy suppression technique to hopefully hide under their cursed energy radar. not wanting to be detected, y/n kept up this technique as she ran into the abandoned street block she was at not long ago and further into where the city actually began to be populated.

completely out of breath, she stood at a somewhat busy street corner and tried to wave down a taxi. becoming a bit more anxious, she walked further down the street before she could properly hail a taxi. she climbed in quickly and gave the driver the address to her apartment complex.

as the taxi driver continued down the road to her destination, y/n leaned against the seat and looked out the window. it had stopped raining. she didn't even notice. it barely fazed her earlier when it was barely sprinkling, but now it was just gloomy.

✽ ✽ ✽

y/n thanked her taxi driver with a smile and closed the door behind her. she found her way to her apartment and walked in more hungry than tired. glancing at the time that displayed on her stove, she sighed. it was barely noon and she wanted the day to be over. running away from sorcerers seemed to cause more anxiety than fighting a curse stronger than her or trying out a new technique. y/n was fully aware that she could die any day on the job, but she preferred that, compared to accidentally letting her identity be known by jujutsu sorcerers. she wanted to remain anonymous, or even better, completely unknown.

y/n's boss always assumed that she didn't have many friends that knew about her job, if she had any friends at all. time and time again, she had made it clear that she didn't want to work with anyone, and that she didn't want anyone to know she existed. popularity wasn't something she chased. unbeknownst to her boss, y/n did actually have a few friends. friends that were similar to her in the sense they were strongly independent. she went out with her best buds at least once a month, but they all were busy most of the time, y/n included.

at this point in y/n's life, she wasn't looking for a boyfriend or friends to keep her happy. she did her job which payed amazingly well, and took frequent vacations; or both. she'd offer to her boss to take up missions that would require her to travel to either another part of japan or even a different country. though, most of her business trips were always to another part of japan, or an outskirting island.

for y/n, it was only ever work and pleasure. she'd work and then she'd either treat herself and go shopping, get a massage, get her nails done, go out for a fancy dinner, or whatever she wanted. of course there's been plenty of nights where she'd lay in bed and touch herself to satisfaction over and over; or on her couch, against her kitchen counter, in the shower, all over her apartment. y/n could go out and easily get a man to sleep with whenever, but she hated having a high body count and letting an absurd amount of guys touch her so intimately. men were easy to manipulate of course, but she held herself as her highest priority. though she wasn't a relationship person, she'd rather find one fuck buddy than sleeping with a different guy every other night, but of course that led to the same conclusion every time. they would catch feelings. y/n has only had a very small handful of fuck buddies in the past few years, especially following the breakup that caused her to hate relationships. the breakup that changed her. the breakup with a guy she now despised. the breakup that ruined her life. or at least it did, for a long time. now....well, she's more than over it. she never wants to experience that again, because in her eyes, the love wasn't worth all the pain that followed. she was betrayed by the one she had loved the most; more than once.

"so this user is actually pretty good then," itadori concludes looking at the shriveled up body that lay before him.

"clearly," fushiguro retorted, "what even made those holes?" he questioned.

gojo hummed in response before ultimately shrugging his shoulders. "no clue," he spout. gojo pulled out his phone and snapped a few pictures before motioning his students to follow him back to the car.

"we're leaving?" itadori asks.

"the sorcerer got away," fushiguro stated what he thought to be the obvious.

"by the time we got here, i sensed no more cursed energy." gojo commented as they made their way down the street.

itadori stopped and looked back to see inuamki peering down an alleyway.

"what is it inumaki?"

gojo and fushiguro stop to look as well, following itadori to see what inumaki was looking at. stopping in front of the alleyway, they all saw the drips of red blood that led down and out.

"tuna."

"the user?" itadori thinks out loud.

gojo doesn't speak. he just starts towards the blood trail and the rest followed suit.

"maybe they didn't get away," itadori says.

"i don't sense any cursed energy though," fushiguro replies dumbfounded.

"unless they're already dead." gojo concludes.
