"You really got the key?" The female asked as she inspected the shorter.
He nodded and bit his lower lip. "Isn't it amazing, Shimizu? I can finally get my practice in." His voice was quiet, almost a shy tone. Sure he had friends, but he always seemed shy when he talked to them. His e/c eyes looked up at the female who adjusted her glasses. "Y/N, you're staring again." She smiled, tilting her head to the side.
The male's cheeks flushed red and he nodded, lowering his head. "It's alright. I know you have good intentions when you do. Sometimes you aren't thinking about what you're staring at." She spoke, gently ruffling his hair.
Shimizu was supportive of the male's soft nature. She saw him as a small child and tended to treat him like one at times. He didn't understand it but he didn't mind it as well. She's his substitute mother who he sees everyday.
How is his mom? Ayumi did ask about her last night, wondering if she'll be back this morning. He let out a huff of air and turned his attention towards his father. He was a volleyball coach and really didn't have time to worry about his children. His team was his children. Not the children he helped the woman he loved birth.
"Y/N." Shimizu called. The male gasped and turned his attention towards the dark haired girl. "Stop thinking so much, your brain will have a malfunction." She smiled, resting her elbow on the table they sat at.
He let out a soft grunt and nodded, looking around. The two were sitting outside. They had nothing to do until Shimizu went to help the volleyball team. "You should come with me. I could use some help setting up the volleyball net." She spoke, standing up.
Y/N nodded and crawled out from his seat. "I never been in the gym." He spoke, following the female. "It's... okay." She sighed, lowering her head. The two entered the gym and to Shimizu's surprise, the net was already up as well as four of the players.
"Well, good morning." She spoke, walking into the gym.
"Morning!" A kid with orange hair smiled. Y/N flinched at the echo of the gym and looked around.
A loud noise was heard, causing Y/N to scream and hide behind Shimizu. "Calm down, it's just a ball." She spoke, pointing to the ball the four were passing among themselves. That was until a guy with a shaved kinda head marched over.
"Hey you! You thinking about joining?" He asked, making direct eye contact with Y/N. "N-No! I-" Before he could finish he got cut off by the male flirting with Shimizu.
Y/N slinked away before whipping his head around and coming face to face with another volleyball player. "I remember you, your L/N's little brother." He smiled. The stabbed Y/N right in the heart. Is that how other people see him? Kenta's little brother. Sure the man is 6'11! Sure the man is awesome at volleyball! Sure the man is good at everything he does. Sure the man takes care of his eight siblings.
The male's lower lip quivered as his eyebrows furrowed. Just because he's oldest and good at everything doesn't make Y/N his shadow! He doesn't want to play volleyball! Ice skating is his life! A poke made Y/N jumped out of his paralyzed state. "Right?" The kid with silver hair asked.
He slowly nodded before running his fingers through his h/c locks. His e/c eyes darted to the one who poked him, the kid with orange hair. Behind him towered a guy with black hair. "So L/N!" The orange kid smiled, throwing the volleyball between his two hands. "You like volleyball? You should totally set for me!"
"I-I.. don't know how to set. I-I'm sorry." Y/N whispered, bending forward and taking a small step back. "I.. have to go. I have.. to feed my wall!" The male busted out of there, running as fast as he could.
"Feed a wall?" Shimizu asked, cocking her eyebrow.
Rounding the corner, Y/N pressed his back on the wall as he began to catch his breath. He began to heave for air, his eyes beginning to water. Why was that so embarrassing?! Did he ruin his brother's reputation.
Christ! What a failure!
The male dropped to a squat and held his head in his hands. Feed his wall. What was he thinking? Tears streamed down his cheeks. How embarrassing was this. Running out of the gym in a panic and now crying in a crouch.
He softly pressed his fingers against his lips as a soft hiccup left them. He just needed time. He slowly sat down and stared at a tree, watching the branches blow softly. How he wish he could just float. Let the wind carry him.
