Longing doesn't need much words to describe itself. The length of its extent is enough to express itself. May the length is shorter or prolonged, the proportion of pain and pleasure settle themselves well into that.

A vast corridor of a magnificent royal palace was illuminating with numerous earthen lamps and fire holders which were giving tough competition to the darkness of night. The calm shine of stars was cheering the beauty of those earthen lamps. The darkness of night was nicely compensated with the divinity of stars in sky and brightness of earthen lamps on the earth.

A tall and well built male figure was proceeding through the corridor. His white attire was seeming perfect on his dusky skin tone. Flying of his luscious hairs by air was exaggerating his possessed charm to no end. The normal expression on his face converted into a smile when he proceeded further. That smile was a small one still was holding serenity.
He stopped in front of a huge door, and about to touch the door to push. Then only he was informed by a maid that his presence was needed some where. Before moving back, he turned back to convey his words to the person who was behind that door.
He reached at a chamber mildly glowing with mixed contribution of earthen lamps and tiny heavenly bodies of sky. The chamber had mild lighting, because earthen lamps were less in numbers in comparison to the requirement. Silence was prevailing in such a way that even the sound of wind was audible. The silent atmosphere witnessed keen movements of eyes of that male figure for sometimes, and then a knowing expression on his face. He headed towards balcony.
A beautiful and slender female figure adorned with heavy jewelleries was decorating the balcony with essence of simplicity. Her eyes were depicting the extreme radiance of happiness. The mesmerising smile wasn't getting fade from her lips even a bit. The white spark of her teeth was doing eye contact with the moon, proudly.
Observing the view in front of him, that male figure stood still at his place. After some while,
"Panchali!" The male figure called to gain attention.
"Arya Arjun!" The female figure exclaimed.
"The decorations are simply amazing, Panchali!" Complemented an amused Arjun.
"Just a small attempt to shape an atmosphere for your relaxation, Arya!" Draupadi replied with glittering eyes.
"You did well trying with the level which was small for you. If you had demonstrated your level of perfection I wondered what would have happened to me!" His words made her blush so easily.
"I am glad that you find this worthy of praising, Arya!" She managed to say, lowering her eye lids.
He was admiring her. She noticed this, and to get rid of that irresistible stare of her husband, she suggested him to sit on swing. She put her head on his shoulder. Responding that, he wrapped his arms around her. Sometimes passed like that.
"You must be tired after this hectic schedule, right?" She whispered her question.
"Yes, Panchali. After defeat of Jarasandh and declaration of Rajsuya yagya subjects are very happy. They are celebrating this occasion in their respective localities. I along with Nakul and Sahdev visited to check the ongoings of city," he answered being lost in his pleasant surrounding.
"We should sleep now, Arya. You need rest," she earned a positive nod from him.
Both headed towards their chamber, and closed eyes on bed to say goodbye to the day long tiredness. After waking up by the unavoidable message of sun rays Arjun found the chamber empty. It wasn't new for him. Draupadi used to wake up early. He got ready, and went for practice. When he came back the changed appearance of chamber made him awestruck.
The chamber was full of gifts. He noticed there was twelve enchanting collection of gifts, and each gift had a happy birthday chit attached to it. Before he could react,
"Happy birthday, Arya!" A melodious voice wished him.
"It's so long, Panchali. I forgot a birthday with family," he made her come to his front as she was hugging him from back.
"After twelve years of our marriage it's your first birthday for me arya," tears of reminiscence were threatening to come out.
"You had waited for me without stumbling your patience. When the time period of wait increases patience becomes penance. You have proved this. See, the outcome of your penance, this moment is right in front of you in the way you wished," he took her tears away from corners of her eyes. His eyes were also softened due to her pure emotions.
"Let's go, Arya. Everyone is waiting to wish you," he nodded at her, happily.
Arjun received wishes and blessings from everyone. His mother, brothers and sisters in law were present around him, but one person was missing.
"Panchali, have you seen Subhi? Yesterday night I went to check on her, but couldn't. Do you know where's she and why she isn't present here?" Draupadi was searching words to answer Arjun.
"Subhi told that she needed time for her preparations. That was why I didn't let arya go near her to check on her. Didn't she wrap up her works till now?" She was lost in the thoughts.
"She must be in chamber. I will check myself," before she could say anything or could stop him, he left from there. She sighed hoping everything to be alright.
