The cold air flooded my face. I continued to run as fast as I could, I was determined. I was gonna win this. I continued to steady my breath. The finish line in sight. I ran faster seeing it. But as it came closer into view the only thing I could see was my rival. Zoe. We'd fought over everything. Especially since she took my diary last year and almost exposed who I liked. We fought in PE. We fought at lunch. Everywhere we went, we were constantly fighting. As I crossed the finish line all I heard was Zoe's annoying taunts.
"Haha I win!" She teased.
I clenched my fist. No way she beat me again! We had this thing every Wednesday before school, we'd race. Loser had to sit in detention. I almost always lost but I kinda got used to sitting in detention. But I was still determined to beat her. I decided to just walk away and I headed to the bathrooms. As I walked I started to ask myself why me and Zoe were enemies.
