It was one of those warm summer nights, a night for you to relax and collect yourself. You and connie were swimming under the moonlight on a big, beautiful beach near your house. The two of you had been chasing each other around and playing all day, so you thought the best way to relax was to go night swimming.

Connie came up behind you and wrapped his arms around your neck, "You think we should go in?" You laughed and held onto his hand, "Let's stay out for a little while longer, it's pretty." the two of you were watching as the moon smoothly lit up the surface of the ocean water. "Whatever you say, babe." connie gently placed his chin on your head and took a deep breath.

The two of you were floating together in silence for a while before you started to speak up, "Do you think it would be best to run away?" Connie noticed that you were just staring up at the moon this time, "What do you mean?"

"Nobody supports us, i'm not doing right in school and you said you're starting to hate the guys on your team. Both of us has toxic households, i feel like we should run away. Just the two of us."

He started playing with the necklace around your neck, "If it's just us, do you think we'll make it through?"

You turned to face him and smiled, "Of course we will, we have each other. That's all we need connie."

He smiled down at you, "You do kind of have a point."

"I know i do, i'm always right." you pushed him into the water and ran towards the shore. You laughed as you were running, "You should've saw that coming, you idiot!"

a few days later

You and connie had it figured out, the two of you were going to run away. The both of you had been planning it for the last week, and now it was finally time to perform the plan. You had all of your things packed and ready to go, connie was the same.

You opened your window and saw connie standing under it, you giggled, "Why are you directly underneath the window?" you whisper yelled.

"Baby, come on. We'll miss our train!" he whispered yelled back. "Yeah yeah, sorry." as soon as you threw you suitcase out of the window, connie felt a sharp feeling in his thigh causing him to jolt.

And wake up. Connie found himself surrounded by a tall field of grass. Another dream? You have to be fucking kidding me. Connie pulled out his phone and checked the time, 8:56. Another year's summer wasted, since he had nothing to do without you.

He did this every sunday night, like the two of you used to. He missed you so much, he wishes every night that you'll come back to him. Even though he knows that will never happen.

Connie has hated your dad ever since the accident, he still remembers how lifeless your body was that day. He hated seeing images of it flash in his head when he was attempting to think only happy thoughts about you. He kept getting flashbacks of how you looked on the stretcher and how you couldn't even speak.

He just missed you. Your laugh, your energy, your cuddles, your jokes. You as a person. He hated having to go to the beach by himself just to feel anything. He loved you with all of his heart, there was no doubt in that. You were and still is his first love, he never even thought about another girl other than you.

Even his family missed you, including his little siblings. It made an hard impact on everyone around you, they loved you. The were so used to having your positive energy around, so after you passed it turned into a complete shit show.

Connie was sitting in the field with the thing you loved the most, your necklace. He had gotten it for a birthday gift and you wore it everywhere. It wasn't just a necklace, it was a locket. Inside of the locket were two pictures, an old faded photo of when the two of you first met in kindergarten, and another photo of the two of you on your 16th birthday.

Connie made sure he kept it in the best condition he could since it was the only one he had. He wore your locket everywhere, it reminded him of you. He had kept all of your most prized possessions to himself and made sure he took good care of them. It sounded weird, he know it did, he just couldn't let you go.

It was hard for him, but he was adjusting. Connie took a deep breath before he gripped the locket around his neck. "Hey again y/n, i don't know if you're listening." he softly laughed to himself, "Probably not."

You were infact listening to him, everyday he came to talk for the last three years, you were listening. He didn't know you were there, and he couldn't always sense your presence, but you were definitely always there.

He took a deep breath before he continued, "I don't know if i can do this anymore. I'm trying my best and my best is not enough. I need you here with me, beside me. Where i can see you and touch you, not being able too hurts me too much. I need you next to me y/n."

There was a silence for a while before he started again, you were talking to him, but he couldn't hear you. "I'm sorry y/n, i'm so fucking sorry. I knew i should've answered when you called, but i didn't know it was you. I was half asleep at the time, i should've answered anyways. I wish i could've saved you, but i couldn't. I'm such a failure."

".... I just want you by my side again, but i guess we'll have to wait. I hope you're waiting for me and don't go finding another ghost guy." he didn't even know who he was talking to at this point. Connie could've swore he heard your laugh, but he soon after brushed it off as a figment of his imagination playing tricks on him.

connie felt himself start to tear up as he laid on his back. i miss you so much y/n.
