"Yes, I'm 100 percent sure," Derek groaned as the two of you walked into his loft, carrying your bags.
"This seems like a lot. I appreciate everything you've done to help me these past few months but this is... this is big," you sighed.
He said for you to move in with him. If you didn't have to keep paying for a place to live, you would be able to move along the process of getting your brother back
quicker."I know. I have a lot of empty rooms here anyway since Isaac left," he replied.
"Derek, I just..." you stood in front of him, while he placed your bag on the floor.
"Yeah?" he asked.
"Thank you," you said.
"I told you, it's no problem," he gave you a small smile.
"Not just about this, a-about everything. Thank you for being there for me these past few months," you replied softly.
"You know I'd do anything to help you. When do you meet with social services?" he asked.
"I-In a week," you replied, slightly nervous.
"I can feel your nervousness," he scoffed.
"Sorry," you laughed softly.
"Don't be. Just know that you can do this, (Y/N). I believe in you," he smiled once more, while you felt warmth run through your chest.
It was something about him, whether it was because of these last few months, or because of something else, you found yourself falling for him. Half the time he heard your heart rate quicken, was because he entered the room, and you couldn't deny the fact that you were in love with him. Luckily, he assumed you were always nervous and on edge.
Not that you would ever tell him, or that he would ever reciprocate your feelings. He was too good for you and he deserved better.
"What is it?" you were snapped out of thoughts as he spoke.
"Oh, sorry," you shook your head.
"I think you're ready to go to sleep. I'll help you take your bags up," you had a slight blush on your face, before making your way up the stairs, Derek behind you.
---
You buried yourself in your blanket, shivering slightly while you tried to wrap your arms around yourself, in an attempt to warm yourself up. It felt like twenty degrees in the loft. You turned to the other side, before groaning softly. There was no reason to throw a fit.You heard a knock on your door, while you sat up.
"Uh, yeah?" you asked, clearing your throat.
"Hey, my heater decided to give out today," Derek explained.
He walked into your room, standing next to your bed.
"Oh," you replied.
"Sorry," he said.
"Don't worry about it, it's completely fine," you replied. You could feel your heart rate rising slightly as you looked at him.
"A-Are you cold?" he asked.
"I'm fine," you lied.
He stood there awkwardly for a moment before opening his mouth.
"Well, uhm, if you get cold...uhm, perks of being a wolf is that I'm always warm anyway, so..." he froze while a blush crept up your cheek.
"T-Thanks," you scooted a little to the side, before Derek walked to your bed, laying down next to you.
You could feel the tension between the two of you as you tried to keep your focus off the fact that he was laying down in bed next to you.
