(Y/n) POV

I came out of my hiding spot after Winter left, and I tried to process what she had told me. I can't believe Winter killed my mom.

????: *sigh* Look son, I am sorry.

????: If you had let me finish that fight and not be such a worry wart, this wouldn't have happened.

I look and see two musk ox, a mither and grown son, and the son's right horn is broken off.

Ox mom: Trample off, I said I was sorry. Let it go.

Ox Son: I can't believe I let you talk me into not making sure that male was down for the count.

Ox mom: How was I supposed to know he'd get back up.

Ox Son: I cannot acceot your apology.

Ox mom: Come on, I said I was-

Ox Son: Hey look. *as the pair notice me alone* Geez, I think somethings bugging him.

Ox Mom: Yeah, what's wrong big guy?

(Y/n): Nothing, I'm fine. *sniffles*

Ox Son: Oh good. Now where were we? Ph yeah, you're a big, selfish, reckless hoofer and your never going to change!

Ox Mom: What?!

Ox Son: I'm fed up with it. *walks to me* From now on, he's my new family.

Ox Mom: You can't do that!

Ox Son: Sorry, you've been replaced by- Gee, I don't even know you're name. What's your name kid?

(Y/n): *I push ox away slightly angry* I don't want any more family.

Ox Son: See he just proves my point!

Ox Mom: Come on! I promise I'll change.

Ox Son: Trample off, you'll never change! Being a mother means nothing to you.

Ox Mom: Of course it does.

Ox Son: Oh yeah, like what?

Ox Mom: Well what about the time your hooves froze in the pond when you were one year old? Who sat with you all winter?

Ox Son: *reserved* You did.

Ox Mom: And who showed you where the good grazing is, I mean the really tender stuff all covered in dew. Now why do you think I did that?

Ox Son: Why?

Ox Mom: *walks to her son* Because I love you.

Ox Son: *sniffles* I love you too, mom.

Ox Mom: Hey, I can change. *nudges him*

Ox Son: Go away.

Ox Mom: *more playful nudge* Come on, I can change.

Ox Son: Go away, don't touch me.

Ox Mom: I can change! *tickles son with her horn*

Ox Son: Hey! *laughs hysterically* Hey, that's the spot!

The pair laugh and walk past me.

Ox Mom: We'll see you out there smallish dragon.

Ox Son: Yeah, good day, eh. *to mother* You know what this calls for? A pile of fresh grass with lichen and soft moss on a lakeshore.

Ox Mom: I like it.

Hearing this conversation, as silly as it was, I start to think of everything that Winter has done for me despite doing what she did. She didn't see me during the fight, then the thought of her losing her own mother and how that must've devastated her.
