Epilogue

10 days

"Wait, so, when you were upstairs asleep, you were actually with Natasha and Wanda taking a pregnancy test?" Steve asked his girlfriend as they sat on the roof of the old Avengers tower.

"I did sleep for a while but then I felt really sick so I got FRIDAY to get the girls to come bring me a couple of pregnancy tests," y/n explained.

The couple had just eaten a celebratory romantic dinner and discussed how they were going to balance work and the baby.

"You know I love you, right?" Steve asked. "Not as much as I love you," y/n blushed. "Impossible," Steve pressed his lips to hers in a loving kiss.

"But seriously, you mean everything to me and I don't know what I would do without you. You light up my entire world like nobody else ever had and I will forever be so grateful for that," he tells her as they stand up and he takes her hands in his own. He gets down on one knee.

"Y/n M/n L/n will you marry me?"

2 months

"I, Steve, take you, y/n, to be my wife. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you and honor you all the days of my life. Back when I was a little scrawny kid in Brooklyn, I never thought that I would ever find love. Now, I realise that I have found so much more than love. I have you. Ever since I met you, I've known that I wanted to spend my life with you, I'm so grateful to be standing here today with you because I love you and there's nobody else I'd rather marry."

"I, y/n, take you, Steve, to be my husband. I promise to be faithful to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love you and to honor you all the days of my life. When I first joined the team, I was pretty nervous, a bit like I am now. The only difference is, I had my doubts about the team. I've never doubted our relationship because I've always known that you're the person I want to be with forever and I love you."

"Steve, do you take y/n to be your lawfully wedded wife?" Tony smiled. "I do," the super soldier grinned. "And y/n, do you take Steve to be your lawfully wedded husband?" he asked. "I do," she blushed. "By the power vested in me by the state of New York on a little online thingy, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Alright Capsicle, you may kiss the bride," Stark smiled.

3 months

"Guys we have a mission, suit up," Tony told the team through the intercoms.

"You can't go," Steve instantly told his wife. "I'm fine, I'm only three months along," she sighed. "Exactly, you need to be careful, there's a baby inside of you, our baby," he rested his hand on her stomach.

"I have a job, Steve, I can't just quit it," y/n shook her head. "Yes you can, you could take a break until the baby is born, I could take one too if you want and we could prepare for the baby together," he held her hand.

"Please, just let me go on this mission. If anything goes wrong, I'll take a break until the baby is born," she negotiated with him. "Alright, but if anything goes wrong, we're taking a break and I'm going to take care of you as well as I can," he kissed her head.

Steve put on his cap voice, "okay, everyone, listen up. This is a simple in and out mission, there might be a couple of HYDRA agents but there's more of us. Bucky, you stay in the jet, the trigger words might not work anymore but we don't want them to think you're an easy target."

Steve and Tony took the North Side of the building, Clint, Natasha and Rhodey took the East Side, Scott, Peter and Pietro took the South Side and Wanda, y/n and Bruce took the West Side.

Steve kissed y/n on the cheek, "stay safe, baby," he told her before running off to where he was meant to be.

"Guys, there's a few more agents that we thought there would be, stay alert," Clint spoke through the comms.
