I am so upset rn. So I was making a custom like Hamilton shirt and obviously it was Lams so I put one of my favorite fanarts on the front and on the back I did the first sentence of Hamilton's love letter to Laurens and I wasn't meaning to like going into like the real history.
But,
I found an article and I started reading it and...what the fuck?! Hamilton and Laurens were the definition of 18th century gay and both had boyfriend's before meeting each other and then marrying their spouses.
Also, they hinted at their love for each other in almost every letter they sent each other and when Laurens died Hamilton wrote to Lafayette and basically told him that he loved Laurens.
And it just got me thinking like what the fuck is wrong with the school curriculum? Like we learn about all these historical people and their background but they leave out the part where homosexuality is present.
Like I for one think it's sad that I had to go online to find this and that I didn't learn it in school. Like okay you don't have to have like 5 classes talking about it but maybe you can just mention it like it's an important part of history.
And yeah I get that they don't want to like offend or set off people who don't think homosexuality is right but I feel like that's a reason that they should include it.
Like letting people know that we're all the same and that honestly a lot of our historical heroes are fucking homosexual or had some part of a homosexual act.
Like if I ran my own school I would include a lot of this stuff and if a parent doesn't want to send their kid to my school because we talk about stuff like that than fuck them because this shit is important.
Maybe I'm just getting ahead of myself but in my actual school I've learned very little about LGBTQ in classes. I've had two projects about LGBTQ in my civics class but I was able to choose the topic I did it on.
No hate or anything but like we learn a lot about black history and Hispanic and/or Latino history and I love learning about that and it's important to know but then we have no representation in school when it comes down to the LGBTQ community.
Sorry about the ranting but this has been bugging me for quite some time and I just needed to get it out my system.
I love you guys and thanks for reading but books and stuff, seeing that people are seeing what I'm writing and liking it is literally why I'm happy when I wake up.
See you tomorrow with another What Lies Beneath The Soldier? chapter,
Kiwi.
P.s. I'M SO EXCITED FOR LOKI TOMORROW!!!!!!!
Also I had to make a new book bc I excelled the character that I can use on the message board.
One more thing I have a whole bunch of Marvel wallpapers if you guys want me to make a chapter consisting of them.
Anyway, now this is goodbye.
