You never really expected it to happen. You were just friends for so long, and you got so close that you kind of molded together. It wasn't abrupt; you didn't ever have a stage where you felt awkward, nervous, doubtful, or any of those other clichés... it just felt comfortable... it just felt natural, and it just felt right.
No one ever pressured you two to do something; no one even spoke a word about it. There was no time when people said "you two would make a great couple," or when people asked about the relationship. The only determining factors in this situation were the feelings and actions of two souls who just understood each other and made one another happy on a sad day and gave them comfort in times of need.
When you started "dating," it wasn't really intentional; you didn't ask "would you like to go on a date with me?" You were just hanging out, and then there was a comforting arm around your shoulders and a warm body pressed against you.
