She ran through the woods. Her dress and hair soaking wet from the rain. Her mind going one hundred miles per second trying to understand what her parents just told her. She , Marie Marvo , is Grisha.

' No, it can't be true' she thought as she stopped to catch her breath. She could hear her mother and father fighting behind her, then a loud cry, then silence. Her breath hitched, the silence was so loud, to loud. So she did what she thought was a good idea at the time, she ran back to the small cottage that her and her parents lived in.

When she got back she looked in through the window and saw her mother on the ground with a hunting knife through her chest.

Marie's world stopped in that second.

Her mother is dead.

And it's all her fault, if she hadn't ran away then they wouldn't have fought.

She turned around and ran away again but ran to the village they lived by. She stopped running when she made it to a clearing.
Breathing heavily she fell to her knees crying and gasping for air.

'It's all my fault' she thought over and over again until it was to much for her.

So she screamed, she screamed so loud that the villagers started to feel her pain. Some of them even fell to their knees gasping and grabbing at the skin.

Black and red mist oozing out of her hands and back forming large blobs of black and red in the air circling her like prey with their food.

Her eyes, although they were shut, were as black as the night sky, maybe every darker.

Then her screams got louder and the mist got more chaotic and wild.

But she stopped and opened her eyes, the darkness still present in them accompanied by the most hateful gaze when she saw her father running into the clearing, he looked at her and started to walk to her slowly with a soft look.

" stop." Marie said with so much venom in her voice. Almost as though a demonic entity had taken over her body. Almost.

Her father was shocked by the tone of her voice and eyes but stopped walking.
" What's wrong Marie?" Her father asked. She looked at her father in the eye and whispered  " you killed my mother."

He heard even though she was talking so quietly. He didn't say anything, he just stared at her.

"YOU KILLED MY MOTHER!" She screamed at the top of her lungs.
The black and red mist jumping to attack her father making him fall to the ground.

" This is not the way your mother would want me to die, Marie" her father yelled at her.

"You don't get to say want she would want, because YOU KILLED HER!" She screamed at her father.

She was furious. How dare he talk about her as if he didn't just brutally kill her a couple minutes ago.

The mist twisted into black and red stakes and flew through his body, pinning him to the ground while he bleed out onto the earth.

The mist was now stronger than ever.
She didn't knew where it came from but she loved this euphorical feeling.

The villagers were running away from the young women that sat with a blank face on the cold earth ground.

The mist expanded upwards and made a dome to keep Marie safe from the people screaming that she was evil.

Hours?
Days?
Months?
She doesn't know.
She doesn't know how long she's been in that dome of safety. But she was growing tired more and more every minute.

Little did she know that the Second army was waiting until she was out of the indestructible dome.
