We walked through the woods and into the highway. The second we stepped in the highway, chills went to our bodies. Loud honks were heard from a mile away. A truck passed us and I thought nothing of it but Shawn didn't. He looked horrified! As if he's seen a ghost.

"I just saw Joe!" Well, he actually saw a ghost.

"What?"

"Joe! He was driving that truck! He was covered in blood!" Shawn told what he saw.

"So?"

"Lhianna, Joe is fucking dead! if you didn't listen. And he's driving that ginormous truck in the middle of The Haunted Highway!" Shawn panicked.

"Well, it's not like you haven't seen a real life ghost before." I joked around chuckled.

"I haven't." He spoke.

I did not know that. Shawn has always been that chad type of guy. I've never seen him that scared. I guess everyone is scared of anything.

"Are you scared?"

"Yes Lhianna, I am. We are IN THE HAUNTED HIGHWAY!!"

We walked straight towards the sidewalk and spotted a small shed just a few meters away. We went inside it to rest a little bit. Venturing upon the shed, a room with "DO NOT ENTER" sign.

"Ooohh." I went inside it and Shawn followed me. We witnessed a rusty little staircase leading to a trapdoor. I entered first and then some sort of shockwave hit me.

"AAAHHH!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.

"Lhianna? You okay?" Shawn concernedly asked. When I didn't answer, Shawn entered the trapdoor.

"Woah! It's already morning? That was fast!" Shawn spoke. I was standing near a trashcan so I quickly saw a newspaper just lying down next to it. I picked it up and saw the date.

"Shawn look at this." I showed his the paper.

"Woah!" He gasped.

"Right? The dat-"

"That man is looking goooood. I wanna take a bite out of him."

"The date you idiot! Are you gay?"

"No. What made you think that?" He denied.

"You literally just said you wanna take a bite out of him!"

"Yeah, because his outfit looks like a pie!" He defended.

"September 19,1991? Like 30 years ago."

September 1991? Maybe its just an old newspaper. Is this a joke? If it is, it's not funny. Whoever you are, I'm gonna fucking kill you!

"Are we in the past? D-did we just....time travel?" Shawn was totally confused about this whole thing.

"Maybe it was just...an old paper."

We looked around and saw a bunch of people few meters away, gathered around a band.

"Let's go over there." I pointed to the people.

We went to them to ask a few questions. I approached one person and asked.

"Excuse me? Would you mind telling me the date? And year?" I asked politely.

He nodded and answered, "Oh, its September 19, 1991."

"Is this a joke?"

"No.. You're weird." He left and walked straight to a group of people talking.

"Shawn. They said it was September 1991. I asked if it was a joke and they said no. I swear to God if this is a prank."

"It's not. Look." Shawn pointed at a few kids wearing the same uniform.

"Weren't those uniforms of our parents?" Shawn spoke.

"Yeah... From.....30 years ago! So your saying this isn't a prank?" I jumped out.

"Lhianna, who would want to prank useless children trying to save a ghost?"

"Some...peopl- Yeah nobody." I answered.

"Let's just go to them."

We approached them and asked one student her name. She responded with..

"Its Leona. And you are?" Shawn stood there still knowing that was his mom.

"I- I'm Sh- Sharry!" Leona was confused.

Sharry? Way to think of a name Shawn!

"Sharry? Really? You really are smart." I sarcastically whispered to him.

"Hi Sharry. And who's your friend?" Leona asked.

"Hi! I'm L-"

"L?"

"Yeah! L, short for L.....Lamborghini!" Shawn turned around almost laughing.

"Wow! Yours is worst!" He whispered.

"Shut it!"

"Okay L and Sharry. Nice to meet you both! Wanna come with us? Were going to the new highway. They just finished it." Leona invited.

"New highway?"

"Yeah, over there!" One of her friends pointed.

Me and Shawn stood there just staring at each other not knowing what to do.

"Excuse us." I pulled Shawn from the group and hid behind a tree.

"Shawn! Today is the day the highway is built! My mom told me that a person was killed on this exact day! And that caused the haunting."

"But why?"

"She didn't know why he or she haunted the highway. All we know is this is the say he or she dies! And were gonna find out how it happened and why its haunting this highway." I bravely spoke.

"Come on."
