It had been a week since that life-changing phone call, Rory was on her way to New York for the reunion. She had also taken advantage of the fact that she was 12 weeks pregnant and would be going to her second ultrasound, although she would have liked to attend with Logan and when they heard her heart they would hold hands like in the movies, her reality was different. Rory had decided to wait until she had her life a little more settled in terms of her book, finances, home, in general everything and she knew she still had time since Logan was getting married in three more months.

First she went to the meeting, which was successful, they talked about the number of chapters, the topics they would cover, how long it would take to finish, the price and some legal things. Rory agreed with almost everything, he didn't really like the idea of someone else editing the chapters if he didn't like them, but he couldn't do anything about it, that's the way the system worked, no matter the publisher. Then they continued talking and they asked her what she likes to write, to which she replies:

"Like to write?"

"It's that some of our writers like to write in nature, near lakes, fields, beaches, because they say it connects them, others just want silence, the truth is they don't care about the place, hahaha. Others resort to cafes because they say they like the atmosphere."

"Ohh that, actually I prefer places that have some special meaning, like my grandfather's studio or a Café that is in Rome I used to go with my mother or with my grandmother and we used to say that they had the best coffee in the world there"

"Rome, that's fantastic. I have another proposal, well it's more of a crazy idea, you know this is a big company, we have several offices in Europe and Asia, besides the ones in America. And we organize some activities since most of them like to write in Europe, it is a classic thing that writers have, they say that the culture and the environment of that place inspires them and they can share their ideas with others, they have somewhat similar thoughts, but not the same, they would kill me if I said they think alike, hahahahahah"

"yes that's very true, hahaha"

"and in two weeks a group will meet in Paris, but in three weeks another group will meet in Italy, maybe you can join and share your ideas with them and at the same time they with you. You can always learn something different. Think about it, it can be a very good opportunity, plus you will meet many other writers who are or were in the same situation as you."

"I think it's a very good idea, I think I'll think about it, besides it would do me good considering that this is my first book and I don't have much experience writing a novel."

And with that he left the meeting, which took a surprising turn, but he kept thinking about the idea, maybe it was good to share with other writers, take a break to think and simply live new experiences as Logan had told him that time in the event of the Brigade of life and death: "People can live a hundred years without really living a minute".

And with that finished, she was on her way to her second destination of the day the doctor's appointment. He decided to walk since he had time and it was only a few blocks away, he took the opportunity to stop by a cafe and ordered of course a coffee, but this time decaffeinated by Luke's strict orders and a muffin with strawberries.

Forty minutes later, she arrived at the doctor's office with plenty of time to spare and checked in with the nurse, who took her information and asked her to sit down and wait for Dr. Montgomery to call her back. Rory chose the doctor from Paris' recommendations, but decided on her in particular because the name reminded her of Addison Montgomery from Grey's Anatomy, although this doctor's name was Elena.

After ten minutes Rory was sitting, reading a magazine waiting for her name to be called, when suddenly she hears "Lorelai Gilmore", she is confused that someone else has the same name as her mother, but just doesn't think anything of it. Then the nurse calls out "Lorelai Gilmore" again and Rory realizes that they were calling her, she just wasn't used to the idea of being called Lorelai.

She gets up from her seat and walks over to the doctor's office:

"Hi, sorry. I'm not used to being called Lorelai, my mother's name is Lorelai and well I was always called Rory."

"Hi, relax don't worry, you're not the first one this has happened to, in fact it happens frequently."

"Thank you."

"You're welcome, so let's get you here for a checkup, right?"

"Yes, for the twelve weeks"

"Ok, then put this gown on and then have a seat."

Rory sat down on the gurney, the doctor applied the cold gel on her abdomen and began to check. After a few minutes the doctor was still checking and was a little quiet, to which Rory starts to worry and asks her if everything is ok. She replies yes, she just needs to go get a second opinion, to which she brings in a second Dr., who also worked there and she confirms Dr. Montgomery's suspicions. Rory shows a concerned look on her face, because they had requested a second opinion, second opinion for what was she wondering, they are not telling me.

"Excuse me Dr., is there something wrong with my baby?"

"No, relax, I just had a suspicion and the doctor here just confirmed it for me."

"What, what suspicion?"

"Look at the screen, I'll show you better."

"Ok."

"This here is baby A, this is baby B and this is C. Rory you are expecting triplets, congratulations."

"Ohh .... Triplets, you mean three babies."

"Yes, do you want to hear their heartbeats?"

"Yes of course."

Rory was very surprised at the news she never expected triplets, well not that the pregnancy was at all planned, but triplets was something she didn't see coming. The only thing she could think of at the moment was that there was no more beautiful sound than her babies' heartbeats, the room filled with emotion and Rory's face flooded with tears of happiness.

At the end of the consultation, the doctor gave her copies of the ultrasounds along with a prescription for more vitamins and other medications.
