natasha romanoff was once on the path of redemption. after being raised and trained in the red room, becoming the star pupil and developing her very specific skill set. these skills included espionage, martial arts, acrobatics and ballet, masters in weaponry, interrogation, hacking, multilingualism and. . . killing. natasha was a spy. an assassin.
clint barton was sent to kill the infamous black widow. but instead, he made a different call. he saw something in her that made him spare her life, instead recruiting her to S.H.I.E.L.D. where she became a valuable agent.
and then came the avengers initiative. recruited alongside steve rogers, tony stark, thor odinson, bruce banner and clint barton, the six of them banded together in an unlikely group of heroes to save the world from an alien invasion during the battle of new york. in fact, natasha romanoff had been the one to close the portal.
