Lucius supported himself with the crumbling walls, of which he was quite impressed; considering the factor of it quite literally being made from bread, it withstood the explosion well, although most of the surface is mostly ash right now. But then again, it was made with the help of magic.
Oh, right. Magic.
The Witch possessed magic, so does that mean he does too? Yes. Yes, it does. But not on the same level.
The Automatic System Of Magic Essence, A.S.O.M.E, as it says in the name, automatically reduces your magic aptitudes if you are a character labeled by the system with 'Magic'. Depending on your experience points with 'magic' characters, the automatic system will lessen it so it is partially equal to that of someone's experience.
Well, right now Lucius was bugged. A single blunder in an insignificant world caused him to fall so far from grace; his experience points dropped back to zero, meaning he didn't have any restrictions when using the witch's magic.
Although that sounded good, witches themselves had certain limitations because of the type of magic they use.
The system makes it seem like he's omnipotent in this world, he isn't. No one is, except for the system themselves.
Lucius pushed himself up, but as a result of all the force pushing against the wall, it collapsed, making him stumble back.
The wall turned into a pile of ash and Lucius concluded that this house was no longer stable to live in. He had to move. Asap.
With just a little bit of force, his whole wall collapsed, and soon he predicts that the house will follow too.
Lucius left the crumbling build, tattered clothes on his back and a single pouch that was smaller than his fists. A small jingle could be heard from the insignificant pouch, Lucius loosened the tie, taking out a single gold coin.
Although it seemed minor, this world had a glutton for gold, especially the merchants and traders. One gold could probably get him a fully furnished room with 24/7 breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a year or two.
That's how valuable gold was to these people.
Although Lucius wanted to scrutinize them for their glutton and greed, he realized he was the same with exp and credits. He wouldn't want to be caught acting hypocritically.
Lucius looked in the direction the two children ran for, the path was the wrong route to their home and may lead to their death, but Lucius didn't care.
The world task simply stated that he shouldn't be the one who killed them. Anything else could, he just couldn't!
Ding!
Hello host! We realized your fault in the way you processed the task!
World priority: [Hansel and Gretel must live until the end of the conclusion]
We are sincerely sorry for the mishaps, please proceed to complete your tasks! We will be focusing on maintenance for now!
Good Luck from all Systems! *·.•'·°.*\(^°^/)
Lucius stared at the bright words, gray eyes hovering over the little emote at the end.
Lucius felt a little pool of heat forming in the pit of his stomach, his mind was forming a blank no matter how hard he tried to process this information.
What?
Excuse me?
What?
What?
WHAT?!!
"AHHH!!!" Lucius sprinted towards the path, anxiously hoping those children weren't dead yet! How long has it been? Only a few minutes since they left yeah, they couldn't have gone far!
Down the path, Gretel was reluctantly patting the back of her brother. They were sitting on the side of the path, and as she had expected, her brother didn't last long.
After only a few minutes of running, and he was already exhausted, he began to gag and choke on his lack of breath, his fat face was flushed with sweat and other places. She almost couldn't bear to look at him.
The clothes he wore were too tight on him, looking like he could burst at any second. The pants he wore tore right at the back, even then his mobility was still restricted.
Gretel exchanged her skirt with his pants, knowing it had better breathing room for her brother and it would make no difference to her if she wore his pants. Although the hole in the back was a little concerning for her, she still had another layer of pants under her brother's, which sort of disguised the hole.
Tired of patting her brother's back, Gretel stood up to stretch, the jingling sound of gold coins rolling in her pants as she did.
"Hurry brother, we don't know when she might change her mind. She was merciful enough to let us go, we can't take that for granted now!"
Hansel grunted, looking up at his younger sister with squinted eyes, "I-I know Gretel! Just...give me a moment!" Hansel's bare stomach which peeked out from his shirt jiggled. "You know what that witch did to me! As my sister, I hoped you'd be a little more supportive!"
"All the witch did was feed you till you turned into a pig! At least you were able to eat anything edible during that time, I was scrambling around and picking at the walls to get at least a meal!"
Hansel recoiled, "A pig?! It was you who was feeding me if you remember correctly! You had ample amounts of food in your hands, but all you've done was force-feed it to me! Like I was just some live-stock!"
"Well, what was I supposed to do?! She was breathing down my neck every time I was near you! She wanted to keep you alive and eat you! I was nothing! My entire life could have just been disregarded and thrown away if I had brought any displeasure to the Witch!"
"I was caged in like an animal! You could've done something!"
"I did! If you could remember, I rescued you from the cage! And I managed to trap the witch! I did so much more than you could ever!"
Arguing so loud in the middle of a forest will attract the eyes of predators.
The winds swept over the forest, picking up dust and fallen leaves, shaking the branches of trees like nothing; a rustle in the bushes and a single blow of a whistle echoed in the air.
Thin and boney shadows emerged from behind trees, a lustful gleam in their hollow eyes, full of hunger and appetite!
But despite all the dangers that appeared before the two children, they remained oblivious, to emersed in their fight to take a look at their surroundings.
