True to his word, there was a breakfast provided downstairs, it just... wasn't what Gwen expected.
When she got off the elevator she was expecting to see a small area of granola and fruits, but there was none. She noticed there weren't many people out in the foyer, so she walked back up to Charon.
"Ah, Miss! How are you this morning?" He kindly asked, folding his hands and looking up from his computer.
"Pretty good Mr. Charon! And Mr. Wick is awake, and healing," She beamed.
"That is good to hear," He smiles at her.
"Speaking of which, he said there would be like a breakfast bar down here. He needs food before he takes his medications. Do you happen to know where that would be?" She asked, looking up at him.
"Ah yes madam, the breakfast is served in our dining room right down the hall!" He tells her, pointing to the long hallway.
"Thanks Mr. Charon!" She waves at him as she beings walking towards the dining room.
The lavish hotel had an even nicer dining room. Gwen was in shock as she entered the large room. It looked like it was straight out of a movie, large columns and archways, decorated with false gold designs.
She stood in the doorway, still in the clothes from last night and raging bed-hair, amazed at the fancy place around her. Many nicely dressed people passed her, eyeing her and discreetly whispering about her.
After all, she is the mysterious girl who showed up with John Wick... and is still in the same clothes with messed up hair. This wasn't high school, although it's not like most of these people have had a normal high school experience, but coming in with the John Wick, and returning in the same attire... is a little questionable at the very least.
Returning from John Wick in general is rumor starter.
Shaking out of her stupor, Gwen approaches one of the uniformly dressed workers. "Excuse me?" She lightly calls out.
The man turns around to look at her. "...Yes ma'am?" He hesitantly asks, recognizing she isn't a regular.
"Yeah, I'm sorry, but do you know where they serve breakfast." She looks around, only finding white clothed tables. "You know, like a grab-n-go area?"
Appalled, he responds. "Um, no ma'am. We don't do that here. We only serve fine-dining style." He gestures around the room to all the people seated. "Should I prepare you a seat?" He asks.
"Um, can I just get something quick to-go?" She asks, everyone around her seem be enjoying a full breakfast feast.
"No ma'am, unfortunately do not do 'to-go,' we only offer dining in here or room service. May I interest you in a table?" He claps his hands behind his back, waiting for her answer.
"Seriously?" She arches a brow.
"Yes ma'am, may I interest you in a-" Gwen cuts the man off.
"Yes, I'll take a table." She exasperatedly says.
"Wonderful. Follow me!" He smiles and walks her to a table by the windows, right in the middle of all the nicely dressed people. "Here's your table, your waiter will be right with you!" He hands her the menu and walks off.
The table had both water and wine glasses out, porcelain plates, and more silverware than Gwen knew what to do with. She was a little shocked that they would keep the wine glasses, but looking around to the other tables, she sees that having wine at 6 a.m. is acceptable.
She sighs before sinking in her chair as the weight of the gawking stares got to her. She opens the large leather menu and begins to look through the options. Most of the options, as to be expected, were rather fancy and hefty meals. Nothing small and simple to bring back to the room.
