We all know that Haymitch really likes to drink and that it could get out of hand, But there is a reason for everything including Haymitch's drinking problem. After Hamitch won the Games Snow killed his family and just like Katniss comforted Rue Haymitch comforted Maysilee Donner Haymitch's district partner. He saw her die and he comforted her when she died. So Haymitch drinks to cope with all the terrible things that Snow had did to him and his family so he drinks to cope with everything. Haymitch is one of my favorite characters honestly and he is so interconnected in his character that I couldn't imagine anyone else as Haymitch Abetnathy.
