"Rosa! Chemistry time!" I say in a singsong voice. "This is going to be so much fun." Rosa says with an evil glint in her eyes. As we enter the classroom, I feel a splitting headache.
My head feels like it is being torn open. "Aaagh!" I scream, falling to the floor. Spots dance in front of my eyes. Looking to my right, I see that Rosa is in the same predicament that I'm in.
A man rushes over. " What's wrong?" the man asks. "Head." Is all I'm able to choke out.
The man pulls out a strange device. It's tall and silver, with a glowing blue light on one end and a black tip on the other. He points the blue light into my eyes and my sister's. The pain fades. "Are you okay?" He asks. "Yes." Rosa answers for both of us. We have a strange bond since we're twins. "Who are you?" I ask. "I'm John Smith." The man says. He has tousled brown hair, a brown pinstripe suit with a white collard shirt under it, a red tie, and a light brown overcoat. His eyes have a wild look in them, like he is a madman. "Thank you." I say.
"No problem." "I'm Opal, and this is my twin sister, Rosa." I tell him. "You two should go to the health room." Mr. Smith says, then he walks away, greeting students like nothing happened.
"That was... Weird." Rosa says as we walk to the health room. "Yeah. He was odd. Did you see that look in his eyes? He looked like a madman!" I agree. "What was that tool he used on us?" Rosa asks. " I don't know. But another thing is, I can feel your pain, and you can feel my pain, since we're twins. But whose pain was that?" I wonder.
"It was both of ours. If it was your pain, I would feel it a split-second after you, and vice-versa.
But we felt it at the exact same time." Rosa says softly.
"Did you notice the way he looked at our necklaces? Like they were precious jewels." I tell her. We discuss our new teacher's odd behaviors the whole way to the health room. " You know what, Rosa?" I ask outside of the doors to the health room. "Of course I know what." Rosa says, shooting me an irritated glance. "Nothing bad will happen." With that she enters the health room. But I know that she is worried. Because I can feel what she us feeling. And she is scared. Like me. Very, very scared.
