Britney repeated herself, "who is it?" "It's a friend," replied David. "Who Troy?" she asked. "No another friend," he said. "Would you just tell me who it could be calling you so early?" she uttered as she sat up. "It's Krystal," he replied as he squint his face. "Krystal who?" she shouted. "You never told me about her being your friend." His phone stopped ringing. "I missed her call, just relax OK, let me call her back and see what she wants OK Hun." He was about to redial her number when his phone starting to ring once again. "She's calling back hang on," he uttered to Britney. He answered his phone. "Hey morning, David its Krystal," "hey Krystal morning, is everything OK?" "Yes I'm fine, I'm so sorry for waking you so early, it's just that I could not find them and I ask Rachael if she had them and she said no." "Them? What's them, what did you misplace?" "My mails, I placed them in my folder I think you might have took them up by mistake, can you check for me please, it's sort of urgent. "Ok one sec hang on," David searched through his briefcase, "what is it, what do have for her?" asked Britney. She misplaced something babe she thinks I may have taken it up by mistake, replied David. "You sat with her?" questioned Britney. "Would you just relax," said David in an upset tone. David opened his folder and saw he had the mails in it. "Hey Krystal you there?" "Yeh I'm here," " I found them, our folders probably got mixed up." "Hey I kind of need them for the next hour I know your wife is upset right now is there anyway I can get them?" "Let me talk to her and see what she says OK I will call you back." "Ok no problem bye." David hung up the phone. "So what now, you're going to carry them over to her house?" said Britney with her arms folded. "Wellllllll....... "Oh hell no!" shouted Britney. "Babe its urgent OK she needs them for the next hour, I got an idea, you can come with me if you like," Suggested David. Britney agreed. They both showered together and got dressed. Britney was bent on looking her best. After they were finish showering David called Krystal and told her that they both were coming over to drop her mails off. David was ready to leave in ten minutes but Britney was still in the mirror making sure her make-up and hair was perfect. "Come on hurry up," said David. "OK, OK I'm coming," Britney replied. Britney step out from behind the mirror. "Why are you dressed like that?" uttered David. She had on the tightest royal blue dress that reached just above her knees and showed up her every curve. Her make-up was flawless, and her white and silver hill heels match perfectly with her handbag. "Dress like what?" she responded. "Like you are going to Cinderella's ball," David remarked. "No reason," she replied. "You do know we are just going to drop off her mails right?" "Yep," she responded as they walked out the door. David just smiled and shook his head. For what happens next cause me to want to tell you myself, yes I said myself, it's me, I'm David and I need from now on to stop speaking about myself in the third person. I want you to hear this directly from me. We left the house to go over to Krystal's home. I decided to take the highway to get there since it was faster and we were running out of time. It's still a bit chilly at that hour and Britney was cold because of that dress she decided to wear. "I'm cold," she uttered. "Why would you even wear that dress knowing what the weather is like at this hour," I asked her. She still insisted that it was "for no reason." I knew to myself it had something to do with her meeting Krystal. I was doing 80 going down the highway. Britney folded her arms but this time refuses to say that the temperature was unbearable. I often have a spare jacket in the back of my car so I said, "babe check see if it has one of my jackets in the back seat," but she refuse to do that. I was tempted to say "well you stay deh and freeze, but I decided to be a gentleman instead - as some say. I kept one hand on the wheel and felt around to see if I find it. I found a jacket but just as I was about to pull it in front it fell between the seats. I made sure the road was clear then I quickly turned around to retrieve the jacket when Britney shouted, "Davidddd!!! I turned around only to see a trailer truck heading right towards us. I quickly tried to dodge the truck but it hit us to the back of our car causing us to spin uncontrollably. Britney was screaming to the top of her voice. She tried to put her feet up on the dashboard to brace her but her dress was too tight. We eventually rammed into a lamppost. I banged my head on the steering wheel. I slowly past my hands on my forehead, it was plastered in blood. I looked over at Britney to see if she was ok. she was so terrified and in shook she stepped out of the car, traffic had started to get heavy. A driver of a blue station wagon with one headlight had not recognized her in time. He rammed straight into her, sending her pivoting in the air. "Britneyyyyyyyyyyy," I screamed out. She fell straight back on the hood of our car. I tried to get to her but I could not move as I was pinned. "Oh god somebody help us!" I kept shouting and crying out. "Britneyyyy!!!" then everything started to go blank. I went unconscious. When I woke up I was confide to a bed in the Port of Spain General Hospital. As I opened my eyes I started shouting and screaming for Britney once again. "Where's my wife, where's my wife?" I question the doctor and nurses tending to me. "I want to see my wife!" I yelled. "Mr. Davis please calm down," one of the nurses said to me. "Don't you tell me to calm down where the hell is my wife? I need to see her," I shouted. "If you calm down you can see her OK sir, when I'm certain that you're calm I will take you to her," she said to me. I had only received minor stitches to my forehead and knees. It was OK for me to move around so I eventually calmed down and the nurse decided to take me to Britney. "I must warn you she is in critical condition but we are doing all we can to save her," the nurse uttered to me. "Ok," I replied as tears continued to run down my face. We arrived at her ward, as soon as I saw her I busted into the doors and headed straight at her but I was stopped by one of the nurses. "Britney!!!" I shouted. She tried to respond but her words were replaced with bloody coughs. Her E.C.G started to beep. "We're losing her, someone get him out of here," yelled the surgical doctor. I was push behind the operating glass and the door was shot behind me. I could still hear the beeps, they got faster and louder. The doctor shouted again, "we're losing her people!! She's going into cardiac arrest." "Someone give me a charge of 40wattz," yelled the doctor. "Clear! He shouted as he pressed it against her chest. Nothing happened. "Charging," said the doc again. "Clear! Still nothing, I started to prayer. "Charging at 60wattz clear!" "doc she's not responding," uttered one of the nurses. "Charging, clear!" said the doc as he refused to give up. "Charging, clear," said the doc once again. "Doc she's gone!" yelled the nurse. "Oh god no!! Oh god!!" I cried out. The doctor placed one hand on his hip placed the other on his head and watched the clock and said, "time of death 6:35am." I lost it. I started to scream and shout. "Nooooooooooooooo!!!!!!! noooooooooooo!!!!! Britney!!!!!! Britney!!!! I tried to rip the doors apart but to no avail. I fell to the floor as tears raced down my face. Whyyyyyy!!!! whyyyyy!!! i continued to scream and shout. I started to feel dizzy. The doctor came outside to give me the news but I had already passed out, everything went mute. I was brought back to earth by a strong scent. The doctor had placed smelling salts to my nose. "Sir come on, let me help you up, have a seat, "said the doctor. He took me and placed me to sit. My eyes welled up once again. As I sat there wondering what's next. My tears became heavier but this time not because she died but because I was only now starting to fall in love with my wife. The thing is I loved Britney but I don't think I was in love with her. Britney was the kind of woman that would do anything to be with me, she often felt the need to be abusive and bossy. If I as much as look at another woman, she would call me all kinds of names and make me regret ever doing that. She could not stand the thought of me with another woman. Little did she know that her reactions did the complete opposite. I disliked her for that, Yes that's my confession, I cried not just because my wife died but because she died and I had only now started to fall in love with her. "David?" I heard a voice call out. I turned around only to see Krystal. The nurses had taken our phones and called our last dialed numbers. They contacted Krystal and Troy. "Krystal?" I shouted. She ran towards me and hugged me. "I heard what happened, I'm so sorry, how are you?" "I'm OK, I replied. "Where's Britney?" she asked. "She's, she's gone," I cried out. "Oh my god!" she muttered as she placed one hand and covered her mouth, she then held me in tears and said, "I'm so sorry, if I hadn't had ask you guys to......I stopped her in her sentence and said "hey hey, it's not your fault OK don't you go blaming yourself for this." "I'm so sorry David," she said once more as we embraced each other. She then made a promise, "I'm here anytime you need me, I will help you through this I promise," and that she did.
