Off's mind was in a state of panic. He glanced at the digital clock and it was close to 4am now. He ran around the house, calling out for Gun in each room but was only met with deep silence. Off bit his lower lip, gripping his hair in frustration. He really feared for Gun and the growing life inside of him and prayed that they were somewhere safe and sound. Off shook his head and pushed all of the negative thoughts building in his mind, his main priority were to find Gun.
Retrieving his phone from the bed side drawer, he immediately called Gun. His hands tightened from gripping onto the phone. Anxious growing with each dial tone while waiting for Gun to answer. But he only roared in frustration when he saw Gun's phone rang in the kitchen instead. To his dismay, Gun did not bring his phone with him. He thought of any possible places that Gun might be, his family? Friends? Colleagues? But Off knew little about the people in Gun's life.
Initially Off guessed that Gun could be over at the Phunsawat's with his siblings, considering how close they live from one another. But if that were true then he would not be standing here, still alive and breathing. There was no way that the Phunsawat siblings were to let him off easily if Gun was over at their place. Gun must have went somewhere else.
Unable to wait any second longer, Off grabbed his car keys along with his jacket and went straight down to his car. He turned the car keys and start the engine. His plan was to drive around the neighbourhood to look for his pregnant fiancé. Gun couldn't have walked that far.
Off mussed his hair in exasperation, smacking the steering wheel with the palm of his hand growling in frustration. His eyes scanning around the surroundings, coursing through the quiet and eerie road, desperate to find any sort of movement. Off felt angry and dejected at himself. If only he had tried to be a little bit more patient. If only he had just gotten what Gun wanted. If only he hadn't snapped at Gun. It was all his fault. And now his babies are out there, all alone in the dark.
For the next few minutes, Off continued to drive past a few restaurants that were closed. He had to remind himself to take deep breaths whenever he felt his stomach knotting. Eventually, his eyes caught the attention of a small moving figure. The small being was crouching down and hugging his knees to his chest, trying to shield himself from the night breeze.
He squinted his eyes and drove closer. He was finally able to distinguish the crouching figure despite the darkness surrounding them. It was Gun! Off quickly parked the car by the roadside, unbuckled his seatbelt hastily and ran towards Gun.
"Stupid Off. That nincompoop mumpsimus oaf!!" Off could hear Gun's ongoing insult rant, grumbling to himself. But he didn't care, as long as he finally found Gun, unharmed.
"Gun!!!"
Off crouched in front of the petite man who looked surprised to see him, judging from his widened eyes. He immediately casted his eyes downward, refusing to look at Off. Gun was still very mad at him. And he didn't want to be with Off. Not right now.
"Gun, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I was wrong. I didn't mean to hurt you I swear." Off hugged Gun as tight as he could. A huge wave of relief washed over him now that Gun was finally safe and sound in his arms. He didn't think he would be able to forgive himself if anything terrible were to happen to Gun and their baby.
Off pulled back from the hug when he realised that was no further response from the petite man. Gun looked pale and his body was slightly shivering from the cold wind. Off took off his jacket and wrap it around Gun's shoulder. Gun remained his solemn expression, refusing to look at Off or talk to the man.
"Gun, let's go home. Stand up, please."
"Gun... Baby come on."
"No."
