For the purpose of this story and the plan I have for it Minerva McGonagall is a pure blood.

Three months later, Professor Minerva McGonagall had picked up Hermione and they were on there way to diagonally to get Hermione's school books and wand. They had to take muggle transportation to get there, so as they sat waiting for the train to pull up to the station, they decided that it would be a good time to get to know each other.

They where asking questions back and forth and it was Hermione's turn to ask a question, "How old were you when you first did magic and what was it you did?" She asked the Professor. Minerva smiled and replied,"I was three when I first did magic, at the time my family had a cat and I wanted to pet it but it wouldn't come to me so I was upset next thing I know the cat went sliding across the room and stopped at my feet." Hermione laughed at that.

"Ok my turn, what is your favorite hobby?" Asked Minerva, Hermione replied. "I love reading and learning new things, you see the other children were never really nice so when the other children played I would read."Minerva smiled at that and said."We are very much alike in that way, you see while the other pure blood girls where worried about who they would be arranged to wed I was more concerned about learning and making a name for myself instead of being the perfect pure blood wife."

Hermione was puzzled about that why would girls so young worry about marriage and what did she mean by arranged, what what was this about pure blood. So she asked the Professor, "Why would young girls be worried about marriage and being a good wife, and what do you mean by pure blood?" Minerva replied, "I sorry I should have explained that sooner, you see a pure blood is a wich or wizard that the last three generations have had two magical parents, most pure bloods are stubborn and stuck in there own out dated ways. The most notable pure blood familys are what is referred to as the sacred 28, which includes the Black's, the Malfoy's, the Parkinson's and many more.

Fair warning these familys tend to believe they are better than others because of there blood status that is not true. Now on to the other part of your question, being in a pure blood family comes with a certain expectation for young girls, that is marriage. the parents of the girls will meet with other pure blood parents and sine contacts that will make it so when the children graduate from Hogwarts they will be wed to a male pure blood heir, this is done to Keep the blood lines pure, most people look down on it but since pure bloods hold some of the most high ranking rolls in the ministry there isn't anything we can do about it."

Just then a blue and silver train pulled up, Minerva put a hand on Hermione's shoulder to ensure she stayed close and they got on, Hermione went to sit down but Minerva tightened her grip on Hermione's shoulder and shook her head. Minerva then led her though a door at the back of the train car and in to a private train car. They sat down and  the train pulled out of the station and Hermione looked out the window thinking about all she just heard.
