>>I'm gonna be home late today. Don't leave any dinner for me.<<

"Huh?"

Calli being the drinker she is, was out, again, with her co-workers to wherever in the city.

Today's place being...

>>We're going to my favourite bar.<<

"Oh, Calli."

***

I thought today was going to be a good day.

This morning when I woke up, I felt the most alive as I have ever been. That doesn't happen too often because, even though I'm a Phoenix, "feeling the most alive" isn't an understatement. Me saying that means I felt the most alive even since I was born. It signifies my eternal life and my never coming demise. It carries meaning from the eternity of my existence in this world.

My highs blow out the thoughts of my lows. Reason being, during that time, I faced death for the first time in forever.

It wasn't like I was going to die or anything. It's just, the beauty I was facing was death itself. Seeing her long pink hair swaying under the moonlight. Also hypnotized by her eyes and how lost I would have been if I stayed in them too long. Her luscious pale skin and lips. Her badass looked costume, looking ever more jaw dropping. And other features. Looking politely at them, my eyes wandering around like I was window shopping but from very far away. There's even more things I liked around her. So when I finally met her and got to know her, rainbows couldn't signify how colourful my world was going to be. We were the perfect parring. Me, constantly having death by my side, made me feel happier than before.

Waking up in bed, yawning and stretching out my sleepiness, I looked over to my wife, Calli. Dressed in her reaper pajamas, with her messy hair all over the sheets, she mumbles words that are hard to make sense of.

What is she trying to say?

I went closer to her mouth and the words still aren't making sense, so, I put my ear as close as possible to her mouth to hear what I think was a confession.

"Kusotori is kinda hot, I guess."

I blushed happily.

Of course, I'm hot, Calli. I mean, look at these curves. If my hips did a lie detector test, the chance of them lying is practically zero.

And that's how my day started. Me on top of the world with a truthful confession coming from Calli. My now wife, started from the beginning of time.

If she knew well enough, "the beginning of time" wouldn't have to be when all your friends and mine forced, I mean, convicted you to marry me.

She finally woke up to me squealing internally and hugging myself from acting out my embarrassment. She looked at the time on her phone. Squinting, she was trying to focus for the first time this morning. Like a wind storm coming out of nowhere, she forced the sheet we were covering ourselves with to the end of the bed. Her eyes were wide open, looking at her phone. She shouted...

"I'm going to be late for work!"

...and rushed out of bed, hurried to the bathroom to bathe, brushed her teeth, drifted around corners to get to the closet as quickly as possible, got dressed, headed to the kitchen and after that the struggle came.

I wonder if there's still leftovers?

"Guh..."

A faint sound of someone guh-ing came into my bedroom. After that, I heard the door making a loud bang as the reaper was late for work.
