Lian Ling "Oh" Renjun spoke. "About this morning, you lied, right?" he asked. I looked down. "Yea..." I replied, knowing that I can't do white lies to him. "What actually happened?" Renjun asked again. "My mom asked me to buy cigarettes. I think she was still drunk" I sighed, saying the truth. "Oh- don't buy them tho I don't want to see you in the jail" he said. "I won't aha. I'm sorry for lying to you" I apologized. "Nah no worries. Tell me if your mom did anything again" he pat my head and i nodded.
"Should I go back now?" I asked. "Already?" Renjun asked, pouting. "Mhm I'm kinda tired" I said, feeling guilty to leave him. "Oh if that so- let's go, you need rest" he said, grabbing the keys. I took my school bag and wait for him outside. He then came out, locking the door.

"Should we buy ice cream?" Lian Ling asked, as the girl stopped walking in front of a convenience store. "I mean why not" Renjun answered. Lian Ling smiled, slowly running into the store and grabbed a lime flavoured ice cream. "Woah they still sell these?" Renjun asked, taking one rainbow ice cream. "I know right?" Lian Ling agreed, knowing that she grew up with the iconic ice cream flavours.
The two of them went to the cashier and get their ice cream paid.
"Renjun, why isn't it raining these days?" Lian Ling asked in her mind while eating her ice cream. The guy look at her still in disbelief. "No more talking, huh?" he smirked. "I'm eating" Lian Ling replied, almost choking. The two soulmates laughed, finding the silent conversation funny.
They continue walking, quickly finishing their ice creams before it melts.
