Demo's pov ***

   I am so thankful that I got Bethany on my team! Even though I can't look at her without wanting to drag her into my arms and show her how I feel about her. Especially after hearing her conversation with her dad, Saturday. I guess that she doesn't realize that I could hear everything that she said as she talked to Brian. I love it that sound carries so easy out here.

  She loves me! I can't believe that she feels the same as I do!

   Today is the day that we bust Cameron on the fucked up work. Bethany has made up a code that was given to him. It basically says that there is a businessman who has been taken hostage. The terrorists will kill him. They are laying a trap for us and will destroy the entire team.

  We have been laying low for a couple days at my lake house. It is more fun with Bethany here. But it is just the guys here. Bethany is in the office acting normal.

  The woman is everything that could make a man happy! She cooks and cleans. She is funny and outgoing. She can listen to your troubles and give sound advice. She loves the outdoors, but is happy to be stuck inside.

   "Hellloooo! Earth to Demo!" I hear Decker say from behind me.

  I turn to see him smirking at me. "What?"

   "I asked if you want to get a game of poker together. But apparently your mind is about twenty miles away." He sat beside me on the dock.

  "Yeah, it is. You know that I'm totally screwed."

   "She's an awesome woman."

   If I can talk to anyone in the unit, it is Decker. "When Riker was dying, we talked. He told me to name my first born after him. I asked what if it was a girl. He said that she would have a tough name, one to warn people from fucking with her. I told him that finding a woman to put up with me is a tall order. He said that he will send one to me." I paused and looked at my friend. "There is so much that I see in Bethany that reminds me of Riker. Her ability to fit in any where with anyone. The way she throws her head back when she laughs. Her dedication to her family and friends. What if she was sent by Riker? How can I have my career and my woman?"

  "I have seen the way that she looks at you. And you look at her. You are in love with each other. Its a true love. You'll have to talk to her and together you will figure it out. All I can say is, be careful and name your second after me. I will stand behind you, no matter what you two decide."

  "Thank you! That means a lot to me."

  He stood and smirked. "You know that I'm kissing the bride at your wedding!"

  "On the cheek." I laughed.

  A couple hours later we go to the base. I have to meet with General Sanders before he calls in  Bethany and Cameron.

  As Decker drives, I realize that I have a year and three months left on my current contract. After that I won't sign a new one. If Bethany feels like I do, we can be discreet until I can get out. Then we can be together.

  We get to base and go to Sanders' office. I show him all of the evidence that we have gathered against Cameron.

  "Well that is enough to charge him with treason. Now what else were you wanting to discuss with me about Warner?"

  I had been wondering who to go to with Warner when Sanders called me asking about an affair with another woman. Warner had tried to get me demoted. I proved my innocence. Then I  asked about Cameron and Warner.

   I told him everything I had on Warner including the ruined phone and lunch.

  "He has done nothing but harass Sargent Adamson. It is unethical at the very least." I finish.
