╰┈➤"Guys!" Y/N called out. She had changed into her jacket and sweatpants and ran to where her team was as fast as possible. The (h/c) haired girl waved her hand at them as her team turned towards her with a smile. She paused in front of the boys and started to pant, trying to catch her breath. She had run all the way here to make sure she didn't miss their performance. And lucky for her, there seemed to be a couple of minutes before they stage the floor.
"We heard the good news, congrats" Onagawa was the first to speak, clapping his hands together. Her red-head captain gave her a  nod in agreement, even Misato had shown a small, very tiny smile. Shida folded his arms and also cracked a smile.
"Indeed, it was really a sight to behold, I also noticed," He added, gaining the attention of all the team members. All the teenagers stopped smiling and looked at their coach with an 'o' look. The coach's gaze laid on Y/N, who was just as confused. "You changed the last jump to a more advanced and risky move, to make up for the small point loss in the beginning I suppose?" This rang a bell for the (h/c) haired girl. She shaped her mouth into an 'o' and nodded. Her (e/c) orbs looked back into her coach's lavender ones.
"Mhm, I knew even if I didn't land it properly, I was still able to gain a few points, and I was up for the challenge" She explained, folding her arms across her chest. Onagawa smirked and patted the girl on her back.
"Wow, I wish I could have seen it, Very-Risky Ace" Y/N deadpanned and caught her upperclassman's wrist before it could hit her back once again.
"Don't call me that" The girl grumbled. Shida let out a soft and quiet chuckle of amusement. The girl had noticed their matching leotards. She couldn't help but admire them, they were such a nice color of blue, it suits all of them very well. Someone said something from the loudspeaker, which made everyone lookup. It's time. The girl thought, lowering her head to gaze back at her friends, giving the boys a big thumbs-up in encouragement.
"It's time, good luck, and have fun out there" The brown-haired coach broke the silence, holding his hand up, standing by the exit. Shicigahama was the first in line, he grinned and walked up to the coach and out the exit, towards the stage or floor. On his way out, he high-fived the coach, Onagawa, Watari, and Misato repeated the same process. Before Misato was completely out of the exit, he felt a hand on his shoulder, causing the boy to halt to a stop. The black-haired boy turned around with a raised eyebrow. His blue eyes gaze straight into the girl's (e/c) ones. Y/N scratched the back of her neck nervously, letting out a small light-hearted laugh.
"um, good luck out here" She finally spoke up. Both first-years were struggling, trying their best not to blush, not even in the slightest. Though, Misato couldn't prevent himself from smiling. A small grin appeared on his lips. He nodded before turning around, following his teammates out. Obviously, Futaba, the coach, and the manager noticed this.
"Young romance is so cool to see" Shida commented, making Y/N blush madly, shaking her head violently.
"You got it all wrong! It's not like that..!" She exclaimed, trying to sound as convincing as possible, the three obviously not buying it. Y/N quickly changed the subject, her lips curled into a frown when she noticed Futaba playing with his fingers and a sweat tear was rolling down his cheek. "Are you nervous Futaba?" She wondered out loud, making the boy look up in surprise. He hesitantly nodded. "It's alright to be nervous, it is your first time, but don't forget to have fun out there" The female gave the boy a thumbs-up, making the shy boy smile. Shida raised his hand again, said a couple of encouraging words to the dark-haired first-year, and he was off.

Y/N, the manager, and the coach stood at the entrance holding their breaths as the performance was yet to begin. Shicigahama took a step forward and raised a hand, signaling that they were ready to begin. On her way back, Y/N spotted Shiro High's captain, vice-captain, and Mashiro. The girl didn't have time to talk to them, though Mashiro spotted her running down the hall and they both waved at each other. Y/N remembered Mashiro calling after her, congratulating her on her performance, and said that it was impressive. The lights dimmed, signaling that it was about to start. Y/N knew she had to keep calm and breathe. Her hands were clutching onto her jacket nervously. Please don't let them screw this up. Y/N don't jinx it. She scolded herself. The music began and the boys started their routine. The performance was doing pretty good so far, but then came the part of the handstands, and they all knew Futaba's weakness was handstands.
"It's almost time for Futaba's weakness" The magenta-haired manager whispered, the coach nodded as a sweat tear rolled down their cheek. Luckily, Futaba was able to hold on long enough. The boys kicked upwards and rolled on their backs, standing back up and started to skip towards the corners, preparing for a combination of jumps. Y/N sighed in relief as she heard a small 'yes' from someone besides her. The girl's gaze was focused on their performance.

Oh boy. When her team landed their backflip, Onagawa stumbled a little bit on his landing, earning some gasps from his teammates. Y/N held her breath, her eyes were wide. Just keep going. She thought in her head. Don't mind a small mistake. Keep pushing forward. The rest of the performance was breathtaking. The lighting gave the (h/c) haired girl chills. She thought it really brought out the routine, made it more entertaining. Ao High finished their performance with an ending pose, the lights came on again. There were cheers and applause from the crowd. The (e/c) eyed girl's teammates seemed pretty tired, they were panting as they stood up and stared at the crowd, who continued to cheer and clap. Soon enough, they had found themselves standing at the edge of the matt, waiting for their results.

2nd place.

Ao High celebrated and pat each other on the back. Y/N sighed in relief. They made it to the regionals. She couldn't help but smile and clap along with the crowd. Ao High had barely slipped into second place, which meant they still had a lot of work to do. But they will keep soaring through the skies. Because the sky doesn't end, and possibilities don't end as well. Y/N's (e/c) orbs found themselves making eye contact with a boy with blue/black eyes, who was staring back at her from the spotlight. Misato cracked a small smile. But the moment only lasted for so long, for someone tapped the (h/c) haired girl lightly on the shoulder. She turned around to face a man wearing a red and white uniform, it seemed awfully familiar. Her team was just heading back, so the coach nor the manager noticed the man. The man had a warm smile.
"L/N-Chan, may I speak with you for a second?" He whispered, so he didn't disturb Shida and the boys. She had seen this man in a magazine somewhere, but it didn't really ring a bell. After a couple seconds of thinking, she nodded, following the man just outside to the lobby.
"Sorry I pulled you away without introducing myself" the mysterious man apologized, giving the girl a small bow. "You can call me Masumi, I am the assistant coach of the All-Japan national gymnastics team" The man Y/N now knew as Masumi introduced himself.
"That's where I've seen you, I recognize you now" Y/N spoke up. She remembered. Seeing the assistant coach and the head coach on a magazine before, while she was studying for the final tests back in junior high. The (h/c) haired girl folded her arms. "Is there something you need from someone like me?" Masumi smiled at the girl and scratched the back of his neck.
"I.. have a small proposal to offer you" He started.

...

"Join the team?!" Y/N exclaimed, eyes wide. Someone like her, join the team? This must have been her lucky day or something. There was no way someone from the all-japan team just offered her a spot. "But, I'm really young for this, and I'm already on Ao High's gymnastics team" The girl listed. Masumi held up a hand to silence her, she let the man speak.

"Although this doesn't mean you have to leave your high school team, in fact, we would like you to stay on Ao High's team if you joined us" Coach Masumi explained. Y/N relaxed a little bit, but she still couldn't believe this. Someone as young as her would rarely get a spot, or even get offered to take part. "And you are very talented, don't doubt your skill as a gymnast. I've been observing your performances ever since junior high, people around the city talked about you, and the other ace, Misato-kun was it? Though, I don't think he's quite ready for the all-japan team quite yet. I know this is a lot to take in, but we will give you as long as possible to think this over," Masumi put a hand on the girl's shoulder and bent down to her height, their eyes leveled with each other. "Just give us a call when you made your decision, take your time, we won't rush you" Y/N nodded. And that was it, the man walked away, trying to find the head coach had head back to the gymnasium. Y/N has a lot to think about tonight.
