Lando had laid the striped blanket clumsily to overlook River Thames. He refused to let Kemala do any work with a shaking head of curls as he recognised that she may have felt tired from work. He had evidently eased once they had left the close proximity of the car, his words starting to become more frequent towards Kemala. She chuckled amusingly at the clumsy man before her, his arms struggling to flatten the creases out of the blanket against the grass - she wonders how a man like this is able to operate in such an intricate vehicle like an F1 car
"All done" He smiles widely with his knees bent upon the grass, like a kid proudly presenting his science fair project. His eyes looked up at her gently, the rays of sunlight streaming into his glimmering depth of blue
"Thanks" she smiles coyly at his kind gesture, slipping out of her boots to lower herself into crossed legs. The soft blanket and thick carpet of grass creates a surface that cushioned her legs delicately, wishing to completely lay upon the whole blanket and wrap herself in its comforting material. He quickly follows suit, settling into the blanket with a knee coming up to support his arm resting upon his kneecap
"Whatchu got there?" He nods towards her fogged container with a container of food in his own hands
"Pasta," she hums, popping the lid off by subsequent clicks "it's pesto with sundried tomatoes" she smiles with a fork in her hand, bringing the container to Lando for him to peer closely at the home cooked meal
"What I would give to have pasta right now" he eyes her meal with desire, his hand still clutching his own meal. Kemala can only chuckle, bringing her food back in front of her and out of his reach
"What do you have?"
"Chicken," he dryly states, a slight pout forming upon his lips "vegetables and rice" he finishes, cracking the lid from his container
"That looks really good" she leans over to peek at his meal, eyeing the delectably seasoned chicken skin with lightly charred vegetables
"It is, but sometimes I crave the comfort foods" he sighs, glancing at her glistening pasta once again. She meets his wandering eyes, noticing the growing eagerness within his gaze
"Have some" she holds the box towards him with outstretched arms, nodding gently
"Don't tempt me"
"Jon won't have to know," she rocks the container gently to prompt him. She can visibly see his hesitation, his hand clasped over his fork tightly with his hand twitching in anticipation "hurry up before I do it myself" she brings up her own fork in protest, eyeing as his fork comes down onto her food slowly. With his lips closing around the metal utensil, his eyes were the first to fall - from a focused gaze to soft eyes that nearly rolled to the back of his head, his face melts into a pleased smile with his head nodding gently and his shoulders dropping to completely relax
"That hits the spot..." he shows a full-cheeked smile, his eyes crinkling at Kemala. She shows a delighted smile, her container coming back to her for her to indulge in her own lunch "did you cook that?"
